In a sense that was easier - because as a straight red he had the backup of VAR if he had made a mistake.
TAA can't tackle at the best of times, now he can't even attempt a tackle
Glad others have noticed this and not just me then. I haven't a clue what Haevertz is for or what he does. Bit like a project manager.
When Trent got his yellow, I immediately put a bet on a Liverpool player being red carded as I didn’t think he’d be on the pitch for much longer, and he should have been off. Nice of big Virge to oblige 😃
I still think they’ll be down to 9 pretty sharpish if Trent comes back on for the second half
Carragher - that’s not a clear goal scoring opportunity. Unbelievable. Dreadful bias.
Yep. Carragher at his most one-eyed
I kind of wish they wouldn't have the clubs ex players commentating on the games of those clubs, the bias can be sickening. I don't mind Carragher when he is analysing a game that doesn't affect Liverpool, but he is awful when it does.
Carragher and his red-tinted glasses is just making himself look like an idiot, defending that
Wondering if Everton will go the whole season without scoring a goal. I suppose an opposing player may score an own goal, but none of the actual team look capable of hitting a cow's arse with a banjo.
We don't know if it was a goal scoring opportunity because he had his legs taken out and consequently we don't know whether he'd have ****ed it up.
There is a certain perverse logic to it. Wrong still.
Poor game management from newcastle, they though they had already won it, so started taking wild long distance pot shots thinking they could be individual heroes instead of working good chances..
And to think I took Nunez out of my fantasy team this week, because it looked like he was last choice for Klop for the front line.
I’m howling here. Not a massive fan of Liverpool, but I cannot abide Newcastle now they have their new owners.
Slightly annoyed as I nearly stuck £1 on for a Liverpool win when they were one down.
**** me that's poor, that Newcastle can't press home the advantage and then get sucker punched twice.
That's where they need to toughen up.
And now we have to look at Klopp's smug face
Toon Army deserved that - they are too negative against the big teams and Eddie Howe’s teams specialise in sh*thousery at any time
Absolutely appalling defending for both goals. That’s unforgivable to lose a game like that
Loving the Darwen Nunez/Julio Geordie interview 😂
first one was a bit unlucky - a double bounce off arse and backheel and could have gone anywhere. Second was bad - stepped up and let him in behind, but far too big a gap between centre back and left back.
No Sky, so MOTD2 then - at least i've been spared Jamie "spitting" Carragher.
‘Carra’ is literally the only person in the World who doesn’t think it was a straight red
I loved Gary Neville’s comment about him ‘bright red and screeching’ 😂
I reckon big Virge may well be in even more trouble for being a petulant dick with the ref instead of just walking
He didn’t think Wolves should have had a penalty at Old Trafford? I guess he’s just trying to be controversial?
I heard that fans want ex players on VAR!
Football. It's a funny ole game.
Wonder if Klop will now start Nunez, he might not have a choice mind, was in the morning rumours that Salah now wants to go to Saudi.
I kept Nunez in my fantasy team for most of last season thinking that once he started scoring he would probably be quite prolific, wonder if this is the turning point.
Certainly looked more accomplished in front of goal rather than the hurried efforts of last season.
Foden did not start as he has been ill all week - think Picolax . He travelled separately from the rest of the squad but felt well enough to be on the bench and came on to add some stardust late on.
And now we have to look at Klopp’s smug face
True, but he didn't murder a journalist and stick him in a suitcase, so it could be worse.
Liverpool fans should not really use the phrase "murder" to try and denigrate other teams. Glass houses and all that.
Sheffield United have been pretty impressive in coping with the Citeh pressure here
Watching that game from the Kop was intense and amazing. A little disappointed not to get the draw, but our players to a man have nothing to be down about with that performance.
In fact, putting in a shift like that has kept us out of the bottom three so far. Goal difference could be very important come May.
Oh and watching your little old cobbled together team score against arguably the best team in the world. And Haaaaaaaallaaaand missing a pen. Priceless 😊
True, but he didn’t murder a journalist and stick him in a suitcase, so it could be worse.
It wasn't actually a member of Riyadh Rovers aka NUFC playing staff that did that.

Could you expand on that? It’s just that you’re saying it like we should all understand the meaning, but I’m not that clear. I’m sure you’ll be happy to clarify.
Just for assistance, afaik, ransos is a Hammers fan, and johndoh is a Leeds fan. There’s something to get you started.
<p style="text-align: left;">In the car-crash saga of the Spanish FA president’s crap attempt at being a decent human, I’m not sure I was expecting this:</p>

RM.
He and now his family do seem to keep escalating the situation in a weird manner. He would probably of got away with it if he had just made an apology that demonstrated contrition quickly. But his arrogance and inability to see the errors of his own behavior just keeps making the situation worse. Maybe in the long run it will prove to be better that he has mishandled the situation, so it becomes a true turning point rather than the continual brushing under the carpet which is customary in these situations.
His stance and those supporting him reflects the wider misogynistic attitudes of many Spanish men, particularly older ones. They don't think it's wrong as they are entitled to behave that way
Its also fairly typical of footballs authorities generally. Just look at the regular cringeworthy contributions on the subject from the likes of Infantino
Spain seems to be some 30 years behind northern Europe - booing black players is still a thing.
On another note Jude Bellingham, what a start for Real.

I took it as a reference to the Heysel stadium disaster - unsavoury for sure, I know there is always bantz between rival fans but I hoped we were above these levels and could keep it 'on the pitch'

It's bizarre, isn't it? If he had managed a bit of contrition and a fulsome apology to Hermoso immediately, I'm sure it would have blown over. Instead he hasn't just doubled down, I think we're at 'quintupled down' now, and he is done for, as are a fair few of the top brass at the federation who have foolishly decided to back him.
Why were the PFA Awards announced yesterday?
I thought they are normally handed out at the end of the season
Well done to Harry Maguire for earning an England call up after such a good start to the season 😂
To be fair, he hasn't made any mistakes on the football pitch since the start of the season.
I wonder how much the Saudi league paid for Henderson to be included ?
Can't believe Raheem Sterling has been omitted after a couple of fantastic performances for Chelsea. Also Kalvin Phillips in the squad despite not having had any game time with City this season.
Tough group for Newcastle on their champions league return, everybody else should be ok, city probably got the easiest draw.

I hope he enjoys playing because they're the only minutes he's going to be on a football pitch this season.
Phillips is another bench-warmer in the squad, Henderson is still in there despite playing glorified Sunday League for Murderers United, yet Sterling looks better than he's ever looked and he's left out? Go figure?
hate the early international break just as the seasons kicked off
hate the early international break just as the seasons kicked off
Man City might have the titled tied up by then this year 🤣
