Zaph Dingbats?

It'll ensure that only the intelligent people who can figure out the correct place and time turn up.*

* Although you may just end up with a gathering of IT geeks.

I think the correct phrase is "Comic Sans FTW".

Serif or Sans Serif?

Kingthings is nice if you want something ornate without being OTT. A few varieties here...

Forget all that silly advice. Why not choose something really elegant and refined, like Eurostile?

[img] [/img]

And just do a really simple two-tone card, in the same colour but with lighter and darker shades. Simple motif, with the text sitting unobtrusively near the bottom edge.

Then your guests will think you're sophisticated and intelligent and you will appear more handsome and sexy.

Use Comic Sans, ands they won't bother coming.

'Hmm, shall I go to drinks with X who uses Comic Sans, or Y who uses Eurostile? Crappy boring unimaginative hosts and party with cheap drinks, or smart, sexy hosts with lovely quality drinks?'

You actually know I'm right.

Eurostile was cool sometime in the 80s I believe. Especially when done in small caps.

Still cool now Winegums. A good font is a good font, simple as that. Comic Sans has it's place, such as kiddies books and stuff like that, but not on a drinks evening invite.

As an alternative, maybe the Op could take inspiration from Vassily Kandinsky:

Or perhaps Alexander Rodchenko:

You actually know I'm right.

Or they could think you were bit of a twonk. They will picture of party full of people in cardigans chatting politely, bowls fulls of olives and a iTunes playlist full of artists no ones ever heard of.

Comic Sans done in rainbow colours with a swoopy bit of word-art. Party food from Iceland, twiglets, cheese balls and a Now Thats What I Call Christmas CD!

You actually know I'm right. ๐Ÿ˜€

๐Ÿ˜†

They'd think that anyway!

I did like that, Muffin Man. Made me laugh... ๐Ÿ˜€

Saw Comic Sans used on the sign for a kiddies' playgroup/nursery recently. Looked perfect in that context.

Why are you knocking up the invites, shouldn`t you be requesting the graphic designers of STW do it for you?

For free, of course!

Absolutely - it's how we make all our money.

Cheers all

I went for Apple Chancery in the end.

Having viewed the hostile (and amusing) reaction to those asking for some free graphic design work via this forum I wouldn't dream of asking the question.
