In the past I've given evidence to a local council flytip officer who came out to my office and interviewed me after I'd reported witnessing the same van dumping stuff on two separate occasions.

Bloke clearly took it very seriously. Took all the details I had and examined the tip sites.

He had a good idea who the offender was: someone known to them with similar offences, who was now passing themselves off as a proper waste management company and then just dumping stuff. 👿 He had a wallet an inch thick of evidence against the guy and seemed fairly certain they'd get a conviction (for what that is worth).

Good on you for doing something - too many people just let it slide.

Good work! Councils are very concerned with this right now so I would be surprised if they don't push for a conviction.

I did an urban ride round Leeds a couple of weeks ago, people fly tip in their own gardens in some parts!

I hate fly tippers, lazy scruff arsewipes.

Council will probably sweep it under the carpet to keep the numbers down so as to justify introduction of tip charges and claiming they have reduced fly tipping as a result (huh?). See Surrey County Council as an example.

p.s. initially thought this was a new book by J. R. Hartley 😀

recently seen some fly tipping near me, which consisted of 15 compressed loads of general waste, each one probably from an 40ft compressor. Currently looking at £500 a load to get rid, so about £8k, not a happy landowner...fly tipping is a big business...

You will have to make a statement, it should end up in court, that depends if the Council have the resources to chase it.

Both thumbs off with pruning loppers, cut ends in salt to be certain. Minimal blood loss maximum inconvenience.

I think these days the council just need to prove the vehicle was involved in fly-tipping to be able to get the vehicle crushed.

Not quite removing a hand but quite close.
