[Closed] Floating ceilings in Singapore?

[#2738961]

Just had confirmation of a hostel booking in Singapore & it seems my room has some kind of levitating ceiling:

"It comes with an aircon, a fan, a light and a small table and/or chair, with a room door. However, the $50 room has no full height walls. It means they are not covered to the ceiling. For the 2-head rooms, they are basically covered fully to the ceiling. There is only one non-full height partitioned 2-head room with windows."

ANY ideas what that's all about? Have mailed them to find out but (sensible) insight appreciated in the meantime

It means the walls don't go all the way to the ceiling and you can peak into the next room.

A pervert's paradise no doubt. Go for it if you're that way inclined.

it's a partition, which is not full height. Allows some ciculation of air in hot humid Singapore

So the aircon's crap then ?

I see it comes "with a room door" which is kinda handy, unfortunately though, you only get "a small table and/or chair".......so you might want to take a pair of steps with you ๐Ÿ’ก

Much like the suites on Singapore Airlines A380, and as Ernie points out above.

Was there recently. Have the chilli crab at the Long Beach at Dempsey.

Actually, I think Singapore Air suites may be a lot nicer. Just found these pictures... from after the refurb! I'm sleeping on the floor
