Just a heads-up, I read earlier that Flickr is now offering 1Tb free storage, and all uploaded photos are full resolution, and contain all exif data.
Reckon I ought to start using Flickr a lot more now.

Google+ must have been doing something right. FLickr looks remarkably similar in album/photostream view (plus the black menubar).

Think the 200 pic limit might have finally gone too?

well that changed overnight then!

Looks good, instagram got me back into flickr as it's easy to post to Facebook, Flickr & Twitter together now.

Still the best Photo site out there really

By copying Flickr, you mean? It's been like that for as long as I can remember.

EDIT: WOAH!!! I take that back. Not sure I like this...

So I see. I'm now beginning to regret adding all-and-sundry as contacts. Has anyone found an alternative to doing a mass purge to get back to only having pictures from friends and family on your homepage?

It's pretty shit.
And it's buggy.
And it justifies the pictures? Thanks!
Not having a decent b/b connection atm its spinning balls a lot.
Infact, yes, it's spinning balls. How apt.
And why are they copying facebooks top banner?
I think I hate it.

Flickr forum has 62 pages of people saying "change it back"

..and 15 minutes later up to 63 pages.

I know it's easy to not like change but I hate it!

The old format was clear and easy to use - this is slower and too cluttered. Lets hope they give the option of going back to the old format.

And now I can't access the info at bottom of page - as whenever I try to scroll down (or 'page down') as soon as I see the info it immediately loads more pictures and lose the links. 👿

Judging by what my average views has been over the past few weeks, vs the cliff it appears to have fallen off today, one of two things has happened: either

1) The demand for mediocre-to-occasionally-good amateur landscape photography has reduced significantly overnight, or

2) Noone else likes the new Flickr, or they just can't find anything

Those who want a refund can switch to a free account, well I think there's a refund I've not really looked yet.

Edit: Had a quick look seems quite nice to me, nice big photos at the front from contacts.

I like it......

(although it is a bit slower. They are going after the 500px idea I think, which is similar in style but much much better. However, I still think the new Flickr is alright. Time may tell though...)

Certainly some display bugs

Certainly seems like a work in progress - 2 totally different looks+feels going on depending what page you're on (half looks like old flickr, but with new menu bar, the new bits really do look like G+ photos)

Never used 500px, but lots of people are mentioning that, so I guess there was some apparent plagiarism there too?

Yup, seems generally a lot better. Could do with some tweaks and bug fixes but I presume they're on to that.

The whining drama queens on the help forum are funny...

Quite like it. Would have been nice to offer something extra for pro users as well as free users though. Pro account seems less attractive now.

Sets won't appear for me at all. Just reverts to "Oi, there's no bandwidth here so we're only gonna show text!" mode 🙁

The $50/year for no ads seems daft. I see no ads and pay them nothing 😉
The $500/year account seems an awful lot to have 2Tb storage instead of 1Tb (no doubt someone has a use for that?)

You get unlimited as a Pro member.

Good lord - $500 for only double space. 😯

And it appears that if you let 'pro' lapse, you also lose control over who can access your high-res images. Also there's no way of getting pro again, so once it's gone it's gone. My guess is they'll try to phase it out over the coming months.

All in all, it looks like a prime reason not to rely on cloud providers for backup...

What are the Set restrictions on a non-pro account now?

You know exactly what I mean. Stop trolling.

You double the 1TB free space you get if your pro account lapses, or if you're not pro. You can no longer buy pro if you're not already pro, nor can you renew if you let it lapse. But you knew that, surely?

No I didn't being a Pro member already when I looked at the info on the link above it only showed me the option. So nope not trolling I was just confused where this $500 was coming from. The solution is simple if you want to use flickr then just start a second account.

Seems to be very little point in hanging on to a pro account.

The main reasons I went to pro was image size restrictions and upload limits.

The former is defo gone now and the latter appears to have gone but there is nothing explicitly stating it on the Flickr site but a couple of places have suggested there is no longer a monthly upload limit.

I don't have an issue with the new UI.

As for Ads? Meh, doesn't stop me using Faceache.

Great, I'm at work and all I can see of my photostream is spinning balls.... Thanks yahoo. that's just great.

Are they trying to go down the facebook route? I rarely go on that (partly because they keep fannying about with the layout...) and I've stopped posting.

Can anybody recommend an alternative photo site?

Seems to be when you first go on it builds your flickr account, mine lagged a little this am for a few minutes and then sorted itself out.

Yeah, but I could see it home...
I didn't like then neither...
Why would I want something that mimics facebook? Oh that's right, I don't...

It's always had that as has many other places even before Facebook an Avatar doesn't make something look like facebook.

Never had a cover photo before. I kinda liked the buddy icon. But the old one doesn't work anymore, it's telling me to upload a new 'better' one.
Just more bandwidth sucking shite.
For those with real world 'slow' connections, that's just what we needed.
PS are you being paid by yahoo or something? 😉
