Stopped at the revamped southbound Fleet services yesterday.
Very odd configuration with the urinals in the gents. They alternate one back and one forward in a recess. Very odd. If you're in the forward one you're worried the guy behind you and to the side might pee down you. If behind the person in front and to side can look round and have a look at her johnson.
All very odd. Design genius.

I was only discussing this the other day with a colleague, we have a company that specialise in commercial washrooms and these are a very odd design to me.
With urinals you get the dreaded splash back so now if you are in the front urinal you get spray from the neighbours too!

I worked in the shop at Fleet Services over the summer after I'd finished my GCSE's. True story, but I can't remember what the bogs were like.
I did mislay about 400 quid out of the till one shift, which amused my supervisor no end.

I've been in loos at the services fairly recently that were like this, but I can't remember where. Probably somewhere on the midlands - Bristol stretch of the M5.
Basically the urinals are offset back & forwards from each other as they go along the line, by about 2 foot. If you choose a 'forward' urinal, you potentially end up with 2 blokes either side of you having a wee 'just over your shoulder'.
God knows why anyone thought this was a good idea & God knows who would choose the 'forward' position! The risk of being enveloped in a fine mist of widdle seemed pretty high!

I'll be at a certain hotel in Brighton later. There are 3 urinals arranged in a corner so that if you were to use the middle one then your buttocks would be in contact with the buttocks of anyone using a urinal either side of you.

I live in Fleet, never been to the Services and suffering from actute FOMO 😉 I feel I need to go a pay a visit.
I avoid urinals - you either get uncomfortably close to other blokes weeing or splashback (from you and/or them) or both.
As an aside, I was further put off them when my not been walking long daughter toddled up to a urinal thinking it was a sink and picked up one of the yellow disinfectant things to wash her hands after a visit to the proper loos.

Advantages : Staggered elbow room so that you can get an extra couple of traps in.
Disadvantages : Getting covered in piss.
