Since the second of my stepsons returned to live with us, he has been treated to the luxury of an occassional bed.
metal framed with metal springs, topped off with 5" medical grade foam mattress.
It creaks.
suggestions to fix/reduce the creaking so far.
encase the bedframe in expanding foam
cut up all my old innertubes and place a small square between every spring/frame point
kill him in his sleep - no moving, no creaking
I think you know what to do 😉

What's an occasional bed, and what is it the rest of the time?
A squeaking bed in your parents' house can probably be fixed with the liberal application of lube. You'd be well advised to make sure everything's nice and tight, too.
gt85 .. smells lovely. Rubber cups under the legs or nice silicone ear plugs
