The landing looked fine to me - a perfectly good patch of frosted-up grass. But it did seem a very wise move to be roped on whilst building the ramp; unroped that could have gone quite badly.

You've not skied in Scotland have you? That's classic "All runs complete, some thin and narrow in places" snow cover in the landing zone.
