After a recomendation on here for the above book and having thoroughly enjoyed it I'm looking for more similar types?

I would be remiss in not recommending the Matthew Swift books by the same author, under her other name of Kate Griffin. She's using a different name as the subjects are completely different, but they are hugely enjoyable.
No time-travelling, but involving urban magic, really quite dark and gritty.
I really can't think of any other books quite like Harry August at the mo', Kate/Claire does have more books in the pipeline, three, if I'm not mistaken, but they will be separate stories, not continuations.
AFAIK, anyway, she talks about them on her blog, kategriffin.net.
She has also written a bunch of young adult books as Catherine Webb, her real name. First one was written when she was fourteen...
She also has a day-job as a theatre lighting designer, having done stuff like Frankenstein.
She's now twenty-five.
You may gather I rather like her books. 😀
