Anything from Matchpoint onwards. Hes a demi-God before that.
+1 titanic
Sideways - thank god I only saw it on DVD - ejected halfway though.
DaVinci code/Angels and Demons - didn't see, but the books were poor IMO so the film couldn't have been up to much.
99.9% of mainstream Hollywood output.
Any "re-imagining" of a half decent film from back in the day. John Carpenter's version of "The Thing" aside, I can't think of any that have been worth the effort of focusing my eyes.
Not quite a total waste but The Blues Brothers...hadn't seen it but heard lot about it...finally watched it and wondered what all the fuss was about...
Seconded. Over rated garbage.
Other than that, anything with Steve Martin in it. Whoever thought he was even good enough to clean Peter Sellers' shoes should have been shot for putting him in the Pink Panther remake..... THEN doing another one.
Sellers = Legend
Martin = Leg end.
anything with Steve Martin in it
Take it you've never seen "The Man With Two Brains" then Pete!
Quantum Of Solace.....
WTF was all that about?
Definately 2 hours lost and never to be regained.
oops. 😳
Open Water - just utter rubbish, nothing happens
Twilight - GF asked me to go and see it with her. Fell asleep.
Elf - awful, awful, awful, awful, awf...
Blair Witch Project - just crap
Mega Shark vs...on the other hand this looks so bad its good (theres a lot of films in that category!):-)
Stealth - best thing about it was Jessica Biel - probably one of the only movies I've seen that would have been better if I'd have muted the sound.
I quite enjoyed Quantum of Solace. Think that CR and QoS are still trying to reinvent Bond, and the storylines will flow a bit more in the forthcoming films
Open Water - just utter rubbish, nothing happens
not actually watched it then?
Open Water - just utter rubbish, nothing happens
not actually watched it then?
Nothing does happen in it though! It's utterly, utterly crap...and somehow they've managed to release a sequel to it!
Nothing does happen in it though!
I don't particularly like it, but to say 'nothing happens in it' is quite ridiculous. Certainly something happened on the screen when I watched it. Maybe people don't know where the 'on' button on the TV is?
OK, I'll rephrase to:
Nothing even remotely interesting happens in it though!
that's better.
Take it you've never seen "The Man With Two Brains" then Pete!
I just can't abide the man. I don't go anywhere near anything he's in any more. Wooden, lame, rubbish. I can act better than him. And Kevin Costner. And possibly Keanu Reeves as well, but that's not hard.
I'll second AI, I wanted to leave the cinema so much.
Now I know it was a chick flick but at the mention of lebian cheerleaders I let the wife put on 'Dr T and the Women' .... a part of me died inside during that movie and I will never watch anything with that clown Richard Gere in ever ever again.
I just can't abide the man.
Fair enough, but if you rate Airplane or Naked Gun then you need to watch that film!
any film by m night shamaylahanananaaman.i cannot abide his drivel!!! 👿
we were soldiers
what a pile of we-love-the-US pish
The big lebowski
- My House in Umbria - tiresome.
- Death Race - how dumb and repetitive can something get?
- Good Luck Chuck - simply not funny, and with no other redeeming features
- Appaloosa - so promising, but easily the worst of the recent crop of westerns. Flat, tired and with the most undramatic, banal fighting imaginable.
It's interesting to see what people's hates are. 🙂
Phantom Menace anybody?
I'm sorry... For a moment there I thought someone had said that The Big Lebowski was not a good film. I must have misread something there.
HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT YOU PHILISTINE!!!
I'll second AI, I wanted to leave the cinema so much.
And yet you didn't.
I thought someone had said that The Big Lebowski was not a good film.
Obviously a disgruntled nihilist. 🙂
Anything with sacha baren cohen in
Most things with Will Ferrell in
The Happening
Talledega Nights
The riddick films....so boring and crap, actually, make that all Vin Diesel films.
The remake of king kong...the most unnecessarily long film ever.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - great book but complete tosh film. The time would have been better spent watching some of Apocalypse Now or The Good, The Bad and The Ugly again.
To all of the people who don't like Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace, I say go and read the Bond novels and then watch these two films. Perfect Bond that Fleming would have been proud of...
Cable Guy, the wirst film I have ever seen.
+1 the Road to Wellville
The Player (in fact anything with Tim Robbins - apart from Shawshank Redemption)
Boogie Nights. We went with friends. After 30 minutes, I'd had enough and wanted to leave, MrsG mentioned that our friends seemed to be enjoying it. Post-film-in-pub-over-pint-critique revealed that they'd had exactly the same thoughts as us, but thought we looked like we were enjoying it! Arrgh!
Far too many to list... including many mentioned already. I'll add The Dark Knight.
I quite enjoyed Death Race.
😳
Can't believe The Mummy hasn't been mentioned yet. People must be blotting it from their memories or something.
Dune
book was ok but the film was a big pile of dross
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
sooooo painful 🙂
I wanted to hate the Dark Knight, but actually thought it was ace - Heath Ledger was brilliant in it
Far too many to list... including many mentioned already. I'll add The Dark Knight.
Good illustration of how it seems to be beyond some to be able to distinguish objectively a poor film from one that they just didn't like
In at No 1>
Crank 2
If only I could recover that 2 hrs of my life.
Would guess written by an 18yr old virgin desparate to get laid.
So bad, it almost does complete circle and becomes good again-but doesn't.
Man it sucked.
If however you haven't seen it, don't let me review but you off of course.
I found Transformers (the recent one) totally and utterly rubbish.
Good illustration of how it seems to be beyond some to be able to distinguish objectively a poor film from one that they just didn't like
I agree that there ought to be a distinction to be made, but I'm not sure how one makes it? Is it a "been to film school" thing?
Transformers, definitely lousy. Big Lebowski, don't know, I like it, amny clearly don't. Is it "objectively" good, or not? 🙂
