Come Up And See Me.

Moloko's The Time Is Now sometimes fools me for a few bars, though...

Stevie Wonder, Superstition.

Undertones, My Perfect Cousin,

The The, Uncertain Smile (Jools Holland outro isn't half bad either).

Good call with The Stones, just getting my kids into them and they like that song

For goosebump-inducing intros, it has to be End of Green by Kerbdog.

Pretty Vacant leapt into my head too as I read the OP. I wouldn't say I'm a Pistols fan but it's a great riff.

Another vote for Pretty Vacant, also like Psycho Killer live from Stop Making Sense.

Don't Drag Me Down by Social Distortion. Starts with drums, then bass, then feedback, then a pick scrape into the main riff/lead hook. Such a good song as well, probably one of my favourites.

Honorable mentions go to these

Fuzz - Loose Sutres. Such an awesome little riff and lovely guitar tone.

Protest The Hero - Mist. My favourite song off Volition and I somehow managed to learn the tapped guitar intro 😀

^good choice as well, I was listening to that album on the way home from work today, it's so good. Shame the rest of their stuff isn't up to much but that first album was great.
