Let’s not beat about the bush. Burt was THE MAN. The ‘tache, the chest hair, the grin, the wise cracks… he had the lot.
What is your favourite Burt film?
For me it has to be Hooper.
I’ve put it on my Christmas list along with Smokie and The Bandit, but I’m not sure that the DVDs are available.

I saw Hooper for the first time the other night on TV and thought it was pretty good.
I prefer the first Smokey and the Bandit film though.

Smokey and the bandit was made for children and folk who reside in trailers and feel wrestling is a fair and legitimate sport!

Smokey & The Bandit can also be enjoyed by those who don't have their head up their own arse or don't think that Burt Reynolds movies are the best topic for a bit of intellectual snobbery.
On balance, though, I think I prefer Hooper.

Deliverance - one of the best films ever made. None of his other films come close.
SATB.. back in the day it was the cult film we used to sit round drinking stubbies of belgian beer reciting lines from it..

Hooper and Cannonball Run - for the fun side.
Deliverance in terms of the movie itself, but Striptease for the boots, hat and vaseline thing.

Love all the usual ones mentioned but have a soft spot for "The End" with the ever fabulous Dom DeLuise.
Did anyone watch the "Gunsmoke" replays on TCM a few month back?
Had a young BR as the blacksmith, you wonder why he missed his way as a massive Hollywood "star".
He didn't, in the 70s he was the biggest star in town bar none.
