[#3725454]

I'm not promising this is an analgesic, nor will it give some sleepy people a whole bunch of 'get up and go' ( 😉 ), but it is a pie based on a full English breakfast!!!
Following on from an idea sprung from these four walls of the forum, rather than spend the day revising, I have been masterfully creating the most splendid of culinary concoctions....

The (non exhaustive) list of ingredients is as follows....
-between 5 and 7 sausages (6) - butcher's finest
-some streaky bacon
-a few eggs (hard boiled or it will be messy)
-tin 'o' beans
-'shrooms and 'omatoes
-homemade shortcrust pastry

[img] [/img]

The sausages and veg ready for roasting...
[img] [/img]

Mmmmm - bacon... Prior to being crispified
[img] [/img]

250g of plain flour, 110g of cubed butter, and salt. Whizz it up, then add about 60ml of cold water - nice! (wrap in film and chill for about 30min)
[img] [/img]
[img] [/img]

Thus far the meat is cooked, and the pastry is chillin'...

Will update once all ingredients are ready to come together!

My long suffering wifey has an inkling we'll be having this for tea tonight - lots of loud sighs seem to be coming from her direction about the whole subject TBH (oi oi, not that kind of sigh...)

Why can't you just use raw eggs, bind the whole thing together and will cook fine?

Edit: top marks for the rest, though!

Look, the man's obviously an artist of quite considerable talent, let him do it his own way.

Dr P, this is a wonderful idea, which could have considerable benefits for the whole of humanity.

What's in the sausages btw?
Not heard from WCA on here since Hit the North. You've not gone all Sweeny Tod on him, have you?

O!M!G!

Never mind finding a cure for cancer! This is the kind of research that we need

Have you any idea how hungry I am now DrP?

Monday is known as Pie Monday in our house. For fairly un-cryptic reasons. I have to come up with something to compete with this weeks gorgeous beef with cheesy dumplings pie. DrP - I think you have provided the answer. I thank you sir

Looks good, but I think my idea for the Full English Smoothie(tm) is better.

Now, where did I leave my blender?

You sir, are a genius!

The sandwich shop down the road has introduced me to the 'regular meal, but wrapped in pastry' craze. Current fave is a lasagne pie. Om nom nom...

Those beans don't look like Heinz.

What could have been a 10/10 with gold star and "Chufty Badge" is going to end up a 3/10.

Sorry.

-1 for no potato based product. Apart from that it looks like a winner.

..actually appearing to know what you're doing ...

Appearing to know, and actually knowing, is a skill I've finely honed....

Arrrg - SO angry at myself - was at the farm shop this morning, eyeing up the hash browns!!!! Curses!!
Well, always a place for MK2...

Heinz beans are oversweetened.
Frankly, their use is a sign of immaturity, weakness of character and moral turpitude.

Just sayin' like.

whole, I'd ditch the bacon tbh, if you're putting a lid on the pie the bacon will go soggy and nasty.

also, a sausage poking out the top is essential...

The bacon will add a lot of flavour - keep it in but chop it up.

+1 for thread of the year, its going to be really hard to stomach the 'healthy' salad that the SO has prepared for lunch... one of the rare occasions that we have to work together and DrP has to put me throught hell!

Right......
First things first - I've convinced the wife that there's no way I could wait until this evening to devour this, so it's pie for lunch - on a wednesday - am I mad.....?!.
Secondly, it's all sorted, in the oven, having the final bake....

Just to get the salivary glands oozing, here's the story thus far....

All ingredients cooked and ready for assembly. I could have done with about twice the amount of pastry, as it shrunk a bit as was stretched thin...Oh well...
[img] [/img]
[img] [/img]

A close of of my sausage and ouefs...
[img] [/img]

Half the 'dry' ingredients
[img] [/img]

Add some beans and 'shrooms to the equation
[img] [/img]

And the final dish...
[img] [/img]

Note the homage to a certain Desperate Dan, and also the 'warning' bacon (alerts inquisitive vegetarians to the impending meatyness...).
I once saw someone paint milk onto the lid, so that's what I've done, and popped it into the oven for about a Simpsons episode and a half....

Will keep a close eye to ensure my creation doesn't burn!

God I'm hungry.

Still think you should've gone with uncooked eggs, though.

I'm stuck in a two hour meeting at work. Lunch is at home and I am now drooling with hunger at seeing your mighty creation.

Dammit. Dammit to heck!

So want.
