Just listening to 6music and it again struck me that I'd love to go for a pint or two with Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie...encyclopaedic knowledge of music, a seemingly similar sense of humour and also the right level of grumpy cynicism..

Which famous bods would you like to be besties with? and why if you can be bothered?

ps not talking about celebrity crushes/sexy thoughts - Kylie has and always will have that special place - even after botox overload...

Stephen Morris - drummer for NO/JD. Man as. Used to live on the farm up the road, spent some of his fortune of tanks as we all would

Since this is a mountain bike forum, can I say Steve Peat? Is he famous enough? He seems a genuinely top bloke, enjoys a beer and can no doubt teach me a thing or two about riding bikes.

I reckon, almost without exception, they'd be insufferably dull and self absorbed. However, I would very much like to have a long chat with David Attenborough before he shuffles off this mortal coil ๐Ÿ˜€

My perfect dinner party:
In a purely intellectual way of course, Brian Cox. With Robin Ince, Dara O'Brein, Sir Ranulph, Victoria Wood & Sandy Toksvig. With Keely Hawes sitting opposite, as I hear she has a quiet voice and I would hate to miss her bon mots.

EDIT: damn too slow on the Cox!

Hunter S Thomson. Apart from the slight problem of him being dead.

Maybe Ray Mears too. Loads of interesting stories.

So standing at the bar with me would be... Noel Coward, Peter O'Toole, Leslie Phillips, Dustin Hoffman, Bob Mortimer and Chris Boardman. The ladies joining us would be... Ingrid Bergman, Jodie Kidd and Kimberley Walch (she seems a really nice lass) and if anyone gave us any touble I'd set Richard Burton on to 'em

Maybe Ray Mears too. Loads of interesting stories.

I dunno, whenever the camera pans away from him and whichever local guest he's sat round the camp fire with, the conversation looks awkward as f***.. am sure he's a nice guy tho..

Personally I'd go for any celebrity that

A) I like their work.
B) They're passionate about what they do.
C) They're intelligent.
D) Up for a few beers.

I've had a few pints with Robin Ince (back in the 90s, mutual friend). He is a nice bloke and the same in real life as on stage/ the radio

This might sound a bit weird, as I'm not an admirer, but the Queen.

Bear with me on this, not due to any Royalist fan-boi stuff, just because it would be really interesting to have a proper conversation (without Royal protocol etc) with someone from such a different background, brought up with that sense of duty etc.

Or maybe Ian Mackaye (Minor Threat, Fugazi, Discord etc).

I cooked him and his wife a curry on New Years eve.

I'd choose Dave Grohl.

You do that, I'll hang out with her husband for a bit. I bet he's a proper laugh after six pints of Stella and a kebab.

Jamie Whitham, Nial MacKenzie, John Hogan - Oh that was yesterday ๐Ÿ˜€
Ranulph Fiennes would be a laugh and some cracking stories no doubt, Agostini for the history.
