Tried to get on my bank website- Yorkshire - but it has been replaced on my PC by a fake site put up by some domain company. How did this get through my firewall/protection software and what can I do to get rid of it and access my real online banking service?

I get that too - I bet someone forgot to renew their domain name!

Just checked the whois records & they were updated yesterday, so maybe renewed last minute & are in the process of updating the records

Are you sure you typed the URL correctly? Often if you slightly misspell it you get moved to these other sites (assuming it isn't a real copy of the site but rather a parking site)

And the cigar goes to m0rk! The bank say there has been a problem with the website which is almost certainly that somebody has indeed forgotten to renew the domain!
