McLaren drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button are optimistic the new United States Grand Prix track will prove to be a success.
Both have driven the circuit in Austin, Texas, in the McLaren simulator, ahead of the race there from 16-18 November.

Right, big hill, slippery track, dodgy team tactics.

I'm better some 'excitement' at the top of that hill at the start!

Pleased a driver did well today as he probably wont be in that position to do that at all next year.

Agreed, I did enjoy the way he overtook the other driver.
The highlight for me was when those two drivers from the same team were wheel to wheel in that corner. Epic stuff.

I liked the fact that apparently he asked permission to race first before that, a few sphincters on the pit wall must of flexed...

That was quite amusing, but I was talking about the other team mates. One of them went wheel to wheel a few times in passing manouvres, but was definitely taking a risk with his team mate (based on his history). Quite a few mature drives too, which is good to see.

Yeah, I gathered that. I thought he was trying to blame someone else for something or other. Perhaps he had his beach towel on the top place of the podium?

What happened was that Vettel caught Karthikeyan just as they went into a section of track where it was very difficult to go off line to allow someone to pass. Karthikeyan had spoken to Charlie Whiting before the race as, driving an HRT, he was concerend about how to handle that situation. Whiting had told him that it would be OK to stick to his line in that section then allow the cars to pass after, which is what he did. Unfortunately for Vettel that allowed Hamilton to close up enough to get past, and Vettel whined to the team about it.

He should have just been grateful that Karthikeyan didn't end up driving into him as he so often seems to do to other drivers. He must have quite a bit of money behind him to hold onto that seat.

I found it really funny as he sounded like a spoilt child complaining that he wasn’t allow to win the sports day egg and spoon race

Hope Alonso can pull it out of the bag next weekend and pip Vettel at the post, maybe Hamilton will help out 😉

You'll be upsetting the anti-Spanish crowd with talk like that.
