So when it does get started what odds can we get on Latifi binning it within a lap! 🤣🤣

You might end up having to pay the bookie for that one lol

There's usually carnage in the wet at Monaco. It's not the place to get a sudden attack of the Yips when trying to thread an F1 car around at the best of times.

Oh joy, a procession restart behind the safety car.

Latifi man FFS! “The car just didn’t turn”
Aye? It’s called understeer, a concept (as a racing driver) I thought you’d be familiar with!

Stroll has pitted twice already, am guessing that he swapped to inters and then back again? It's not going to be his weekend.

Stroll has pitted twice already

He got a puncture on lap 1 or 2 after brushing the barriers.

Got a feeling they’ve thrown Checo under the bus again. 🙁

Something happened with Ocon / Hamilton as well but it was off camera. There was a "causing a collision" flag popped up on screen then both drivers pitted.

Russell is going well!

Oof, Schumacher and Haas really didn't need that.

Not sure a car should break up as that Haas did. Hit didn’t look that big.

My heart sank when I saw the back of Mick’s Haas there. Glad he’s ok as it was a minute before you heard from him.

Pretty sure they're designed to break up like that for safety reasons.

Guess it's a combination of new regs and tec Pro barriers, but yes didn't look like a huge impact did it (again maybe because of tec pro).

Hang on why has the race been red flagged?! I switched over to the Giro during the SC bit and when I switched back, it was red flag.

WTAF?

Edit: I mean, I saw the Haas crash but it looked like that was all being sorted under SC?

"Lapped cars will be allowed to unlap themselves before racing restarts"

Just let them race.

Yep - they were lapped for a reason. Never understood that rule.

Shouldn't that be any lapped cars? Then a roll of the dice to work out which cars that'll actually be?

The racing has been amazing but it feels like race control has been making things up as they go along again

The racing has been amazing

Behind the slower running Alonso, it's just a procession. No-one can overtake. Alonso is just acting like a Virtual Safety Car. 🙄

I know Monaco is iconic but it's only been amazing because of rain, tyre choices, and drivers earning their corn trying to keep the cars out of the barriers. What's happening now is a bit dull. With all the money, they need to have sprinklers on the course.

From 7th to 18th is hardly separated by anything. They should black flag Alonso for being too slow!

See this is just shit now. There's a race of 5 cars. Then a traffic jam.

Even the "race" of 5 cars is pretty dull.

"They are 30 seconds behind Lewis"

"Can I burn my 4 points for 8th and stuff Verstappen into the barriers when he comes past"

Could someone with good F1 knowledge explain how the Red Bulls got ahead of the Ferraris, when Verstappen and Leclerc mirrored each others pit stops?

I just don't understand how it can be considered exciting, when a driver can back off by 3+ seconds a lap and still not have to worry about being overtaken. All the other incident, strategy and faux jeopardy is meant to be a bonus to the race, when the race is nothing but a procession, then all the extra bits are pointless.

In fact, in the past 10 years, the total number of overtakes, 101, is far less than the Chinese Grand Prix achieved in a single race in 2016, with 170.

I may have missed this year’s overtake. Remind me. Alonso audition for next year’s safety car was a low point. It also denied his team the chance for a point.

Well deserved win for Checo as was clearly faster of the RB's. Still amazed at how they race around in the wet and not bin it at Monaco ( except schumi and nearly Sainz). Russell still showing that the Mercedes is the third fastest car on the grid

If you are watching Monaco for overtaking you're wasting your time. You watch it for the drama, which todays race provided plenty of. Some years it's as boring as hell, some years it explodes into an action packed crash-fest.

Well done Checo - go and chase Max down now and give Karen a real headache! 🙂
