[#2013643]

For all you gamers out there that like a bit of F1 on your xbox 360 or ps3.
just had a hour on the new f1 game from codemasters and have to say its very good indeed , plenty of feeling and graphically its very impressive , i especially liked the wet weather running , you even start to get a dry line as the track drys out ..
in career mode you get to start in 1 of five teams , hrt , lotus , virgin , sauber and torro rosso.
Im off for a bit more before bed

PS : ..Its not out until Friday !

ooohh do like the idea of this, but if Forza is frustrating without a steering wheel, i imagine this will be a nightmare

no demo, annoyingly!

I keep trying racing games, very few I get taken in by. The novelty wears off very quick and I start driving around the wrong was trying to cause huge pile ups.

Drac - The Burnout series are the racing games for you then, causing crashes is what you're supposed to do ๐Ÿ™‚

I have Burnout Paradise, loved that for exactly that plus with the camera you could give people the bird after smashed them into a wall. The Americans use to scream something rotten at you for that, brits just laughed.

What wheel do people recommend for the likes of the PS3?

Love Burnout, great to just drive round crashing into cars for fun.
Plus Burnout on the PSP is even better for the crashes ๐Ÿ˜€

My pre-order from Amazon was posted today, hoping it'll be here tomorrow.
I'm a massive Forza fan, still playing Forza 3 one year on. Maybe I should get a steering wheel...?

I would love a decent racing game, but like drac I find most of them rubbish, in my life time the only racing games i have enjoyed are...

Mario Kart
TOCA & TOCA2 on the PS1 - i still think that its the best racing game I have ever played
The first few F1 games, once that hit the PS2 it was rubbish
Gran Turismo
MSR on the dreamcast which became PGR on later consoles - they were all good
Forza was ok but only with the wheel.

I've got rid of my consoles now, but could be tempted back by a good car game. Whats best at the moment?

Don't say Moto GP

Anyone playing F1 2010 on the PC? Looking to get a cheap build (probably from overclockers), just not sure what GFX card to go for - the two that I've looked at so far are the ATI 5770 (1gig) and the Nvidia GTS 250 (512Mb).

To be honest, I'll probably only play this an rFactor (and rFactor 2 if it comes out), so not too fussed if it won't play games in a few years time.

I've got an XBOX too, but my G25 wheel only works on the PC, and I love it ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a steering wheel, but never use it 'cos there doesn't seem to be any good compact wheel stands, suitable for sitting on the sofa with. Unless anyone can point me to one of course ๐Ÿ™‚

Playing it on PC and its pish. Lets put it this way, if you can do a fairly quick lap of Monaco with all driving aids off using keys then what does that tell you. Arcade muck I'm afraid.

Maybe that they've tuned it so it can be used with the controllers that people have? With Microprose F1GP, GP2, GP3 etc, you could go a really good speed with keys but the final couple of percent needed a joystick or wheel to get. Didn't make it any less of a sim though.

I absolutely LOVE F1, and really want this game to be the dogs, but I can't see it being as good as Forza. Hope I'm wrong as my copy is on its way.

The online reviews all seem pretty good too but the true fanboi's are saying the experience is a little lacking in places such as no safety car or drive through penalties. I'll be getting it once the price drops a bit.

well to be honest 8 laps behind a safety car would be pretty boring and you'd be pressing the "advance time" button for that wouldn't you?

It's pretty good you know. Although it's pish easy on anything but 'hard' difficulty

Started my season on a 'med' figuring a steep learning curve, but had pole by 1.5s and race win first time out at Bahrain in a Toro Rosso

Shoot, finally there would be something to do. Got bored of re-playing career mode on f1 championship. Need to polish up skills again for online -fight- ! No comment on GT5, think I will sell ps3 sooner than those monkeys release the game.

I recently saw a demo of the upcoming (hopefully....) GT5.

It looks A M A Z I N G!

Yep, I'm also getting really really bored waiting on it and I was thinking I'm going to be very dissapointed by it after such a long and tedious wait.... but it really does look brilliant!

Here you go, I'll do it for you...

... UK / EU - No delays to release date
... Japan - Delayed end March 2010 to early November 2010
... Rest of World - No delays to release date

Hopefully will be well worth waiting for. For those that haven't seen...

Can't get video to work...

Mine came yesterday, spent an age last night in practice, quali, then race at Bahrain. Cracking game, had it in hard mode and it's not very forgiving. It's not quite Forza 3 though.

doing time trial - got a red bull - that chap Schumacher was pretty much in a rush around the Sakhir circuit in my opinion 1:30 seconds???? I went for the value for money and managed to eek out a lap in 2:10 secs... too many people are in a rush I say.
One critisism - put a tyre width over any rumble strips etc and your lap immediately get invalidated -WHERE IS THAT WRITTEN IN THE RULES OF F1?? cutting out a whole chicane - then yes.. one tyre over a line ... NOOOOOooo.
