Have a huge list of distances that are imported (from a GPS) as text. how can i change them to numbers?
also, the list had merged cells so the datat is in cell A1, then A3, then A5 etc, how can I paste it into C1, C2, C3, etc so that it's sequential?
(text) data looks like,
85 m
148 m
340 m
943 m
370 m
388 m
76.2 m
89 m
106 m
with always a space and 'm' after it.

Data toolbar. Text to columns tool. Use space as delimiter.
Then filter, selecting non-blank cells, copy to another sheet.

Or just find and replace " *" with blank. Deletes everything including the space.
