European Breakdown Cover

I have AA membership through my car warranty but it doesn't include European cover, do people normally but this as an add-on?

I had to request the European cover as an extra when I got AA with my car insurance

Yeah, in the past I would add it on when all this was cheaper/better separately. Now I have combined insurance and annual European breakdown cover as standard through tescos.

Hmmm I messed up here then methinks as it's an added extra £45!

We've been AA members for years but for a 3 week trip this summer Green Flag was more than £100 cheaper for a full year of UK and Europe breakdown cover than the AA would cover for 3 weeks Europe only.
It makes no sense.

For reference for future years nationwide premium bank accounts come with aa cover Inc Europe and a very decent worldwide travel insurance for 13 quid a month.
