Ah, kinda wanted Wales to win (being the underdogs n all) but that Bale bloke can string a decent honourable set of answers when provoked by the reporter.. Doesn't he play for Madrid or did I miss hear?

70% possession and the only clear cut chance was fluffed by by the £50M gold digger who supposedly moved clubs to get better...stick him on the bench...its what he's now only good for

He doesn't even deserve to be on the bench. He's lazy, tactically clueless, and couldn't hit a barn door with a shovel. A preening cockwomble who believes his agents hype. I don't know how he's the nerve to stick a no 7 on his back.

I'm sure that if Pep has been watching then he'll already be ushering him towards the exit. Half a season on the bench, then out on loan, never to be seen again. City can afford to take the 30+ million hit they'll have to take on him, just to get shut of him

Missed part of the middle of the game, bastarding boss came down! grrrr.

Canny argue with England from what I say though, Gallant performance from wales, but England just a better team and it eventually won out.

Both teams in a good position though, Russia are doable. as are Slovakia.

If fit, Sturridge will score: It's a fact.

I was like watching Arsenal at times, (when playing a so called inferior team), never easy trying to get through a packed defence of committed players, but we stuck at it and got what we deserved.

I thought all of Woy's subs were spot on at the time, as the one player you want on the pitch in these situations is Sturridge.....just a pity it took him so long to get in where he was needed, rather than dropping deep and shooting (badly).

All IMHO of course. 8)

It's Woy what won it 😉

2 perfect substitutions, now don't play Stirling! The jury's out on Kane.

Sterling.... the latest in a long line of super impact speedsters who just lose the plot. Ruel Fox, Aaron Lennon, Theo and now Sterling.

How did everyone's bets do?

My old man casually asked me to put £5 on Wales/England HT/FT, and just got £150.

So, did anyone win any money?

I did say 2-1, without enough conviction to put any money on it! 😥

Very strange to be so fired up for that as a fan yet be so genuinely conflicted about support. I thought I wanted Wales to win, being underdogs and seeing what it means to fans here, but I've been emotionally invested in England since I was a kid so I was pleased to see them play so much better.. so I guess that makes me an England fan after all 🙂

i really wish England had lost, all this does is reinforce the delusion that the England team are somehow contenders.
we don’t really have any world class players and what players we do have lack the ability to either follow basic instructions or show genuine talent for reading a game.
games seem to take the same form of stuttering around to little effect then running around in a panic for the last half hour. this only gets you so far in a tournament.
this isn’t enough against the top teams.

also losing at this stage would mean less work for emergency services as losing to italy, spain or france means the local intelligentsia like to show their disappointment by attacking ‘restaurants of ethnicity’.

Perhaps football threads aren't your natural home 😉

Two Madrid clubs, Real and Athletico both in last months Champions League Final, he plays for Real

Fair do's Mol's, btw you don't need to pick allegiance to a team, the euros are better enjoyed with out any. May have the odd soft spot here and there but that as far as it goes, it never verges on support. Nationalism is bollocks: 😆

Franz Carr for the (row z) win ! Sterling's running him pretty close though 😐

Ah, sorry, you said lose the plot, rather than the ball 😉

Unfortunately Raheem is fast becoming the new Tony Daley.
I hope in years to come he rediscovers his form as he played quite a big part in that Liverpool team that should've won the league a couple of seasons ago.
Also this is the issue with taking so many strikers. Roy clearly likes this formation as it means he can find a place for Rooney, but Sterling is the only wide player we've got in the squad. Would've been better off taking Theo or Andros and leaving Rashford behind just to give us some options out wide.

Sterling isn't a wide player, which is part of the problem.

So another look at the Germans, after the first round of games, the pick for winning it, imo.

England reminded me a bit of Utd under LVG - lots of possession, bit slow and stodgy, not many clear chances created but doing enough (just) to win. Wales were absolutely dire to be honest. Quite a turnaround needed v Russia if they're not to blow qualification. I agree with all the comments re Sterling! 5 minutes of Rashford and you can see what he has that Sterling lacks - a football brain and a bit of awareness.

I am surprised how well Rooney is doing, he wouldn't have been on my team sheet for this tournament, he would barely have made the squad on last seasons performance.

Sterling is an easy target, its just a continuation of the vitriol directed at him by the bitter ex Liverpool players masquerading as pundits. Kane has been equally as bad these two games, I wonder if he will get the same treatment when united pay 60mill for him.

Agreed - but I suspect better sides won't give him as much time and space.

Do we know if Low and his assistant have matching shoes on as well? And I wonder who decides on the outfit?

I'd imagine he thought be highly unlikely to be watching and England game 😉

@binners agreed totally I can't see Sterling on last seasons form or this garbage lasting too long under Pep. I do feel for Kane as I think had Vardy or Sturridge come on at half time against Russia Kane would still be at 9. Chapeau to Rooney too, if he keeps this up we'll be seeing him in that role for 4 more years. Hard to see any other team against Slovakia than Vardy/Sturridge/Llana etc

good result for England..but in reality Wales werent at the races. Wasnt impressed with Delle Alli and Sterling. Not as sharp as in the first game and a bit complacent in the passing.

Was hoping for Rashford to score.. but glad Sturridge did if only for his impression of Crouchys robot. Oh how I miss the robot.

Just in a Youtube blackhole while watching the Germans huff and puff.

Who knew Gordan Strachan had such a gift for comedy....

I thought Alli's touch was poor today as well, would have swapped him for Lallana going off when Rashford came on.

I'd like to see Kane and Sturridge start on Monday; keep Vardy for impact and Sturridge's better vision and flicks and passes will give Kane more to work with. We haven't seen the best of Kane and I don't think we've seen the last of him either.

Well....that was a snooze fest.

Looks like Deadly Serious was 1/3 right.

Could well see three draws today.

The Poles just played a strong defensive game against the Germans. Although supporting Germany, I couldn't help but cheer a bit for the spirited Poles.
