Also recently the refineries where buying the carbon certificates to reduce the CO2 by offsetting but that's got dearer and now their adding the bio.

It's also so clean as a solution it can act as solvent and lift the shite that's been coating the tank for years.

If your wanting a diesel without any FAME content you can look at Shell GTL

Most shell has a few percent in to bring the base stock up to the correct cetain level.

I sell it. I'm not as tech as sui but its a surprisingly interesting field.

Sui you at a refinery?

Fuel, one of our banes... Modern (ish) Road cars, vans and trucks fine on normal unleaded and diesel.
The planes, Rotax engine, doesn’t like 100LL (Avgas), well it runs better and does more miles to the gallon but engine rebuilds required twice as often. Also wary of mogas as it much more likely create carb icing, not a good thing in Aircraft! Normal aircraft fine on 100LL but the older and lower powered ones much prefer 85, run smoother and much less valve damage.
Race bikes, at least V-Power but where we can we use 100LL or often go 50/50 of the two. The racing two strokes much prefer the 100LL (And it’s bigger measured and noticeable extra bhp). Modern street fuels are not good. Even V power, if over 3 months old becomes a no starter, as in it will not start!
Race cars, we usually go 50/50 100ll and v-power. 100LL by the way would rate 110Plus octane if at the pumps, it’s octane is rated a different way. We have heard of classic car users burning out valves by using it. We put it in classic bikes, which are hardly used, (and The bikes are not keen on ethanol) and never had a problem. BP100 is great for classics, if you can get it! And BP102 for performance engines but only useful if the engine is set up for it or some modern Mgt systems adjust to it.

Lionheart, what about 91UL avgas? I assume fro your comment about 100LL that the ron is calculated the same way Americans do it, I now their bog standard '85 RON' is actually higher than our 95 RON.

Mum lives at Epping isn't far from north Weald airfield...I might give them a ring an see if they would sell me 91UL by a gallon.
edit, Just chcked wikipedia and american octane measurement is the AKI system, 85 AKI = 90 RON, 91 AKI =95RON. aviation gas octane uses two different systems (aviation lean or rich) but its similar to AKI....so I guess 91UL is abut 95ron.

Hmm interesting thread, I've got a barely used 20yr old Guzzi with a plastic tank that has expanded so much that steering lock to lock the stanchions hit the tank which is mot failure 😕
