Ya see the trouble is even when you have honest upstanding people in these positions, they are brought to heel and put in compromising situations, which force resignations, when they realise their hands are tied and they will be forced to tow the line.

So even if it starts well, it ends up with shithouse rats being the only ones prepared to front the jobs.

What a sad reflection on the world, to achieve in politics and get worthwhile things done, you need to carry a majority, that may involve a level of compromise - but surely better to get worthwhile things done than hang on to unimplementable principals.
