Well Rooney will be lynched for that comment and then forgiven having issued some half arsed unfelt apology,,,,, he really is a twunt who can't even understand why people might be upset at traveling all that way to see him and his other mates not even try very hard. IDIOT

Well at least England are following previous form; draw, win 1-0, sit back/Police-up etc etc..

I couldn't care less what Rooney does/says wearing an Ing-er-lund shirt. As long as he's home fit & fresh for next season is all that matters.

For 48 weeks a year he's a c*nt in red why want him to do well now?

Rooney looked like the only one who was playing with some kind of passion. The rest looked like they had never played together before. Short passes, mis-directed passes, all sorts of krap. A well earned nil-nil draw. Capullo is surely looking for a new club now?

Rooney was shocking lots of mistimed passes just poor.Mind you the service he got was poor from midfield he kept having to drop deep to look for the ball .At times ther were 4 or 5 in front of him and he's the striker

If you put all those English players in a hessian sack and punched it ... that player would have deserved it. Truly the lowest this country has sunk in world football. Those ****s need to have some passion and balls and not be distracted by the next Gillett advert they wish to appear in.

Exactly, he has to work off the service and if possession is lost in the midfield or the cross doesn't even make it into the box, what would you do? I'd soon give up wasting my energy! The passing was pi55 poor and Rooney was the only one with enough passion to say anything, everyone else slunk off quietly.

Rooney played with passion ? I must have been watching a different game.
What a load of old horse cack. Overpaid prima donnas. Gerard was crap, Rooney, Lampard, Heskey say no more, I mean come on - we're playing potentially against the best teams in the world and Heskey was on the plane as the best we've got. We might as well have sent Ainsley Harriot. Sorry but Capello is no better so far than any other manager we've ever had, including Graham Taylor.
I really hope Rooney gets his lip out about this and realises why the crowd were so vocal after the game. Did he really expect applause ?

And Rooney hasn't even got enough passion to take part in the national anthem the miserable little scrote.

no put he probally feels worse about it than you can you not allow his emotional outpouring? Plenty of it on here. Yes they played poorly but it is not like they wanted to or dont care ...Perhaps the weight of expectation and the reaction they would get from their "fans" has weighed heavily on them?
PS Heskey is not an International footballer for a world class team hard grafter but not enough talent.

Junkyard,

That weight of the nation/expectation stuff is facetious bollocks. Just like any other country then ... that go on to deliver. Not good enough. Deal with the psyche of English football and sort out the celebrity teat sucklers ... many of whom publish biographies before they've ever done anything.

Beckenbauer was right

There are too many foreigners in the Prem to let any decent English players through. So we get the same old faces every tournament - not because they're the best English players there are, but simply because they're the only English players in the top 5 teams in the Prem. Look at them. I bet there's not one of them plays for a team outside the top 5

[edit] the goalkeepers - two of the three anyway - were involved in relegation scraps all season and the third was on loan. What does that say?

They are all shite so until England wins the World Cup all those premiership players are nothing but a bunch of overpaid tossers that are paid to be so. i.e. you feed them your hard earn money every week at club level and they think they are gods.

Put it simply they are not worth the money nor the craze support people give them, because they are shite. Utterly shite. Nothing but shite.

For the amount they earn at club level they don't even have the decency to play like a team so no matter what world class manager you have nothing will improve.

England (football that is) is on the terminal decline I am afraid so it might even better to choose second rated English players as they might play with their heart and soul. Not like this bunch of lazy, unimaginative fat piggies.

"And Rooney hasn't even got enough passion to take part in the national anthem the miserable little scrote"

What National Anthem? Have you listened to the words of that pitiful ode to an in-bred German. Refusing to sing it was the best thing Rooney did all night.

He may not respect the fans but at least he's got a little self respect! Nearly every country in the world has a National Anthem that talks of Nationhood, pride, values and identity. What have we got? The world must be laughing at us [except maybe North Korea, I'm sure Kim Jong Il thinks it's pretty good]

"Refusing to sing it was the best thing Rooney did all night"

What a load of garbage. We're not talking about scrutinising the lyrics here, which Rooney would never fathom anyway, we're talking about putting a clenched fist on your heart and singing with the fans with pride and passion.

Liek it or not thats our national song which should provoke pride and determination. Opting out of it shouldn't be an option.

I'm pretty angry with their whole attitude, who knows how those poor buggers that paid thousands to go watch are feeling these morning.

Utter garbage. I'm not at all concerned now that I'm missing Wednesdays match. Especially as I'll be checking in for a flight to Geneva for the Passeport Do Soleil in Morzine 🙂

That was one thing I always liked about Vinnie Jones, he learnt and sang the national anthem. Wear your shirt with pride. 😀

Thing is if a miracle was to happen! they would be forever tainted in my view.
It's a sad day when a fan (me) prefers to watch other countries play.
Hey ho.
Still certain they'll scrape through? problem is then all the dreadful stuff is forgotten, and that's wrong.

Capello said he's seeing much better performances on the training pitch - maybe that's due to the poor quality of the opposition on the training pitch?

😆

thanks iDave that has cheered me up this morning.

I'm still desperately clinging to the hope that we can pull it around because as our celtic cousins will tell you, it's far more fun when your team's still in it.
What worries me is that in other WC's where we've been on the brink and then turn it around to play quite well, change was forced upon Robby Bobson and bringing Beardsley and Hodge in during 86 and changing to 5 at the back and bringing Platt in at Italia 90 were changes that he was able to make for the better. This time around, I just can't see what Capello can do or who he can bring in. All this talk of Gerrard playing off Rooney in a 4-5-1 is fine in principle but I can't see Capello deciding to use it with 4 days preparation.
I think we've got to face the fact come Wednesday, after looking so strong in qualification, we'll be out of the WC before the knockout. Poor.

Straw clutching time...

We can still qualify, we haven't lost a game, it is still in our own hands. At least we're not the French, just have to hope we avoid Germany in the next round cos they will on current form absolutely humiliate us.

England would do OK against someone like Germany - "we" are a bunch of fit and fairly well-trained players who can do a fairly disciplined job against a strong team. Not saying we'd win, but I doubt there'd be more than a goal or maybe 2 in it, and we'd have the odd counter-attack.

What we lack, horribly, is the wit to break down a team that does a fairly disciplined job against us. Virtually no movement in attack and midfield is as stilted as I've seen in ages.

If I was Joe Cole I'd get "injured" right now & rule myself out of the next match, as ALL hopes seem to be shoved onto him at the moment and there's no way any one player can turn that around, let alone "only" Cole

hangover wearing off. Part of me still feels we will qualify after all it's slovenia surly we'll be good soon. Although when I think about it we don't deserve to get through with our boring football. I don't care about there pay, surly they want to win the WORLD CUP!

aye but it wasn't just Rooney was it. It was the lot of them. There was at least the option to bring 3 different players on for at least half an hour and he could have still left Rooney on. Bringing Crouch on for 5 mins was a waste of time - he may not play the prettiest football but his England scoring record can't be sniffed at. Joe Cole I rate highly (not sure why, he's always injured), why wasn't he given a chance or is he going to be last WC's Walcott. However, from my armchair it's all very easy but I'd like to know reasons why Capello left everything (uninspired same ol' same ol' subs) so late.

From the top (Capello) to the players on the whole, what an utterly shameful performance and you thoroughly deserved to be boo'ed off by fans who pay thousands to see that shitte you produced. The tactics were crap, the spirit, heart, desire and will to win was totally absent and they were too scared to do anything or take any chances and that's why they failed beat a very third rate team.
