Mildly amusing - and I'm English. Remember at the Euro's a couple of years ago when England didn't make it. The whole of Scotland suddenly didn't know who to support... 'til then it was APE - Anybody Playing England!

Slightly amusing and I'm not in the slightest bit concerned by it.
The only time this sort of stuff bugs me is when I'm told I have to support that loser....sorry tenis-ist Murray. He's Scottish and he wants to be seen so (supporting Argentina against England in the footie), so I don't have to support him. I was cheering Federer when he gave him a tennis lesson at the Aussie open. Fair enough.

Tell that to all the households who will have twice the Council Tax increase to what England have, and to all the Teachers and other support staff who will loose their jobs because of the cut in funding for school budgets while the Welsh Assembly waste money on new offices for themselves and pay the rent of profitable business so they can occupy new business parks.or perhaps they don't care to be ruled by the Orangen Freistatd* called London

I see this as being similar to myself (a Rangers fan) wanting anyone except Celtic to win a tournament, or an Everton fan wanting anyone except Liverpool. It's more to do with a sporting rivalry (not that we've been good enough at ootbal to be seen as rivals in recent years!) but the country element allows those who're looking to be offended (and there are plenty of them about) to take offense.
In this case it looks like some d1ck of a policeman has tired to make something out of a non-issue.
I'm half English and half Scottish so like to think I'm unbiased on these things!

Well both have been to European finals in recent years, which is more than can be said for the vast majority of UK teams (barring 4 or 5 of the top English clubs).

After visit this area and other vallies last friday for work, that really does not surprise me!
They have babies to ensure they get an automatic right to everyhing and another excuse not to go to school!
At least I get to support my OWN countries team in the world cup, and not some other nation because their own national teams are as good as a bunch of blind school boys 😀

As a teacher,the odd schoolgirl we get who is pregnant is terrified.Getting a house etc,is not really apparent as the motivation.IMO

There's a lot to admire about the England team, they do seem to play as a greater-than-the-sum-of-their parts type squad, they are a good mix of people from across your country, north and south, black and white, there's even a few uglies like Rooney to show how down to earth the team is....
... an then I think back to EVERY F***IN' football event since 1966 and the triumphalist bollox of the media and pundits, and what we would have to put up with if it happened again... And I think nahhh! Anyone But England!

That sums up why the [i]majority[/i] of the rest of the world hate the English.(and they do!)

It's funny the police worrying about this but both Facebook and our own Government don't see any problem with a Facebook group anti-cycling campaign that includes posts stating that people should deliberately hurt cyclists and some that even state that they will do so. But apparently this is freedom of speech. Unless of course it's from a group of muslims protesting then it's fine.
