The batteries are NiMH not LiIon as mentioned previously.

If you need to ask the sort of questions I’ve seen on this thread, let someone trained

The question was one very specific about physics. It was most definitely not one of 'will I be ok if I grab these metal bits?' I am curious about physics not stupid.

I did my research and thought it through very carefully for days beforehand, I identified the risks, took appropriate precautions (including £35 on insulating gloves) and I did the job safely without dying.

Molgrips - fair enough, my apologies.
You have every right to ask the question.

For some very good reasons, I get twitchy about people asking certain sorts of questions, but I probably came on too strong there.

Also, ask me in private and I’d probably give a far more nuanced answer, but only once I’d come to the view that you’re “curious about physics not stupid” - which I am inclined to believe.

On a lighter and more facetious note, congratulations for not dying, hopefully Darwin was on watch and your lack of death has improved the human stock somewhat. That is how it works - no? 😉
