This isn't a troll by the way.

If the window had been smashed or the car keyed then I could understand. But a chuffing egg? Come on.

My MIL recently mentioned to a PCSO that some blatent drug dealing was taking place on her street.

"Well as long as they're not upsetting anybody there's nothing we can do" was his response. Again GMP.

Maybe they got lost in the way to my house? I had my car (also a BMW) nicked & they couldn't even be bothered to send even a PCSO round!

why wait until something gets broke, why not stop it before further damage is done, you never know next time they might throw things at house windows and if it's yours it'll spoil your food more than answering the door to the police

Maybe there is more to it than an egging?

mmm use of some trigger words, plus 'facts' in your story not adding up, suggests otherwise. But do crack on.

My neighbours autistic son is targeted by a gang of ****wit kids, throwing eggs, flour, trying to smash his shed Windows. If the police showed any interest I would assist in anyway I could.

I think it's bloody ridiculous but I'm 48. The car owner (BMW One in white) is a 25 yr old snowflake type.

OP sounds like a selfish idiot without any care for where they live nor their neighbours.

Lets hope when anything happens to the OP that they get the exact same response....

"Help, I need help.."

"ah yes, your the nob who didn't help us aren't you"

"erm..."

You OP are the snowflake.

Yet 3 weeks ago when somebody vandalized Chipps' car only two miles away GMP couldn't give a shit. Despite us knowing exactly who he was and where he lived because the idiot in question wrote a letter to the pub landlord complaining about being thrown out immediately prior to attacking the car and its occupants.

If the window had been smashed or the car keyed then I could understand. But a chuffing egg? Come on.
eggs are usually purchased in multiples of six. What if "he" did 6 cars on one street? or does the same car every night of the week? at what point does "its just a silly prank, wash it off" become "its got a bit ridiculous now, someone needs to have a word". A PCSO seems like the perfect person to investigate and possibly have that word before its become silly, or someone gets hurt. In fact is that not exactly what they were created for to let "real police" get on with "real policing"?

It may well be the complainer suspects a specific individual is responsible (an ex partner, for example) which suddenly changes the nature of the offence. If it was me, I'd have asked my neighbour first of all, but then I have a fairly constructive relationship with my neighbours and AFAIK they don't call me snowflake.

My MIL recently mentioned to a PCSO that some blatent drug dealing was taking place on her street.

"Well as long as they're not upsetting anybody there's nothing we can do" was his response. Again GMP.

Ah, so your hearsay evidence of not responding to something more serious is the reason they shouldn't pop over to ask for a look at the CCTV to see if its a kid, or something more sinister? Have you considered that the PCSO did indeed feed the drug dealing into the intelligence database? Did you consider that the correct response from your MIL would have been "it IS upsetting ME". Bear in mind that the objective of most drugs operations is to aim for as high up the chain as possible, not to lock up the guy who is supplying to get out of the debt his own dealer is threatening to kill him for.

I had a car that for some reason upset some one as it had multiple egg strikes and large amounts of both coke and milk poured over the windscreen. (Also a BMW)

Did not occur to me to call the police.

Never found out who done it or why.

Ah yes, it's only an egging

...like the other 18 times he/car/house has been egged

it's only a silent phone call

...like the other 22 he gets each day

it's only a bit of junk mail

...like the other dozen parcels he's had to collect from the PO

etc. + many other forms of intimidation. stalking, bullying and general harrassment that numerous people have to put up with because no one will do anything about these 'minor' offences.

Not saying that's exactly what's going on but try engaging your brain OP, there could be many reasons why the Police are involved.

On the other hand it might just be a couple of local kids, but so what, a chat with the PCSOs might stop it getting worse or spreading, was going to say if you have any interest in your local community you might be bothered about that kind of thing, but you're not coming across as the community type...

Probably too chicken after the first one.

I'd have helped them out and would have hoped neighbours would have if I was the 'victim'. If it a great use of police time, not in the context given no but I imagine it was a fairly slow day for them and ideal fodder for PCSOs to pick up to gain some experience.

Sure if I was just sitting down for a meal I'd have said it wasn't a convenient time and to call back later (or if you already new by then they needed CCTV checked then to say you'd take a look and ask them for a contact number to call them on).

As for the egging itself, I'm guessing it was either just a random act of 'being a ****' and maybe a PCSO having a word (if they were ever identified) might stop them being such a **** in future or it was targeted and maybe more is to follow or the neighbour is already having other crap happen to them/being harassed. Either way it shouldn't be consider harmless & acceptable behaviour, it's up to the police whether it's worth dealing with if they're called (which was hopefully not via 999...).

Also, OP, that Egg throwing could have been destined for You and Your family.. Its just that the perpetrator got the wrong address..

Could be, you never know... who have you upset recently the you know of.. or indeed don't know of..

Hope you have a nice day now, nope have an Eggselent Day.

I reckon the other 11 are hidden around the OP's garden to go rotten before he finds and breaks them

Sounds like it cost the OP more effort to avoid helping than it might have done actually helping... The CCTV doesn’t have a fast forward so you could watch the 3 hours in 10mins?

I'm sure the chickens will come home to roost and the perpetrators will get caught, until then you just got to look on life sunny side up

There's only three classic STW threads I remember - that one, the Picolax one and Badger's tubeless inflation one.

polly sort of summed up my view, but it occurs to me that low level vandalism is exactly the sort of thing minor weed dealers do to intimidate neighbourhoods and retaliate against perceived snitches. May be if you dropped your isolationist self centred view and helped the plod then your concerns about dealers may also be addressed.

Some sort of eggsplosives? More likely to get shells from a chicken.

That's bloody harsh that is. And trolling really is something different to what people think it is when they type random words on their puter.

Serious question and not meaning to derail the thread. Could someone explain what being a 'snowflake type' means. I see it written on this forum quite a lot and have always guessed it was used to infer something about sexuality but have never been sure.

You make that sound like a bad thing.

Serious point. The culture of this place seems to be that posts that appear to be selfish or a bit self absorbed get roasted. But genuine appeals for advice or assistance always seem to get an overwhelmingly positive response.
