[Closed] Effective waterproof shorts repair - What did you do/try?

endura waterproof shorts- looking at the tear and the pressure this section is put under(!) I don't stitching back along the seems would work as legs wideish apart on the bike and that section is stressed hence the tear. Why do endura shorts tear there?...

So I was thinking getting a piece of tent off-cut fabric and using some sort of glue and repairing/patching from both sides. Would this work?

Anyone tried this and with what materials etc?

I'm not fussed about the crotch area being kept waterproof.
