Yeah - I found it quite interesting.

Quite surprising how far the argument about the red sweatshirt went; but following the saga through from beginning to end gave an insight into a situation that, as a parent I would have thought would have been completely overblown, but from a teacher's point of view has to be enforced at all costs lest other standards slip.

The thing is everyone respected the deputy head, and he respected the kids, something that seems to be missing in older people.

Look out for the michael gove part, towards the end of part 2, so really funny and oh so true.

This was, unfortunately, my local school when I were a lad! Luckily, I went elsewhere in Harlow :/

I really enjoyed it. It highlights how a tiny minority of persistant attention seeking gobby kids take up a disproportionate amount of one person's time. I personally thought the teachers were just fine and showed they were more normal that perhaps we've given them credit for!
There's a bit about it in the Daily Mail suggesting if this school is rated outstanding, lesser rated schools must be truly abyssmal! Typical Daily Wail bollox reaction.

I went to an open evening at a local high school the other day (my son is due to attend from September next year) and, yes they wanted to put on a show, yes they were all on their best behaviour, yes they probably chose the best kids to come along to help, but I found the kids fizzed with enthusiasm and were so personable I found it really quite amazing.

We're all too quick to believe the daily wail picture of rioting teens and gang culture that we overlook the fact that (as the deputy head pointed out) the kids are a reflection of the society that adults create and therefore should be treated with respect if you wish to have respect in return.

Interesting program. I've heard people before describe school teachers as 'children of the adult world'. Obviously a ridiculous generalisation, but this program does nothing to change that view.
