apparently when they come to Llandudno they're teaming up with some other group of right wing dicks called the North West/Wales? Alliance/Infidels? or something (can't be arsed to look it up) and some other far-right groups. I think cos a lot of the population in this area are from England, retired, and big Daily Mail readers!
Not too long back I was up late at night, and one of those audience type talk shows was on, and the EDL leader guy was there to take questions, Question Time style. He was sooo inarticulate and defensive, in the face of the most simple logic and reasoning, it was ****ing laughable.
The 'muslamic ray guns' video say's it all really....very very confused people.
I have a theory... we all get our kicks from some kind of adrenaline... be it on a bike, at a football match, in the cinema~ historically people attended church for the excitement of the preachers passionate sermon.
At the end of the day, we as mountain bikers, pursue adrenaline and excitement through a positive and progressive medium.
Guys join the EDL for similar thrills via adrenaline, but their path is negative.
Whether this is to do with braincells, upbringing or indoctrination, who knows, but it does kind of suck.
My cunning theory would also tie in with the lack of females, as testosterone and adrenaline are more abundant in blokes.

The problem is that racists and bigots don't consider themselves to be racist or bigotted. They tend tomthink they are just saying things the way they are. Their behaviour and attitutde is normalised by their friends as they all use the same words, language and rhetoric. It seems acceptable amongst them and they tend to think it is acceptable in public in general. Soemtimes they realise that they have been mistaken other times [i]they just moderate[/i] their behaviour in public but continue to behave badly whenamongst their own kind.

But the EDL seem to be quite an organised strata of thoughtless, angry pricks with some kind of axe to grind, but are very misdirected in their outlook on where to grind it! and like Charlie says, should be confronted and challenged in their opinions of what they are protesting against. I'm not sure a lot of 'em actually know!

Except they feed on the confrontation. If you ignore them, what exactly will they achieve? What are these people if not just a larger group of people mouthing off in the pub? If they were going round beating up other people or denying them their rights then such actions clearly need to be stopped, but surely most of them are just going out to have a bit of a shout.

We did a fair bit of ignoring of Hitler until it all got too late.
We're happily ignoring some fairly extreme views and actions in Syria because they don't have any oil
We did a pretty good job of ignoring Al Qaida until they few a couple of planes into a couple of buildings
We seem extremely good at turning a blind eye to Israel's extreme prejudice against the Palestinian people, which isn't going particularly well.
