We are in Edinburgh this weekend, staying close to the Royal Mile.

Where would you recommend to eat early evening (around 5:30/6 ish) for families?

I want to try and avoid the Stag/Hen Do's etc and all your chain type places.

Also I dont think breakfast is included where we are staying. What nice cafes/restaurants would you recommend for breakfast?

Ta

Royal Mile is pretty much chains = Zizzi Pizza Express or pubs.
Head over to George Street (no where in Edinburg is far from anywhere else even with kids)
Continis on Geo St is good.

Proper family-type Italian restaurant.

Been loads, either with the kids or later just ourselves.

Café Truva is good for breakfast. Lower half of the royal mile.
