August is Festival time, so it ain't gonna be cheap.

Looking on the bright side, you're only 5 minutes walk from The Bike Chain.

Got an event on?

Assuming things work out OK when I get back to the UK in March, we'll be sharing a bit of the love we've found out on our travels and renting out the spare rooms at Flying Ox Towers. Edinburgh, nice house, super cheap, but it won't be near the Botanical Gardens. email me if you want info.

Most holiday inns have family rooms and kids stay and eat free

Mark (TBC) had his wedding at the Bonatics. Great venue.

Edinburgh is pretty easy to get through/across so I'd not limit your search to the immediate vicinity.

Get something booked now for sure - Edinburgh has good public transport links and is small so where it is doesn't matter.

Queensferry Road HI will be the best option. There are cycle paths leading from there to Corstorphine Hill if you want a wee play around, out to South Queensferry for a gentle 2-wheeled ramble, or toward the Pentlands for a longer ride.

The ones nearer the City Centre are more likely to be rammed!

You do realise the Festival is on then, don't you ??

There isn't much hotel wise around the Botanics that I can think of - but it's on the bus route. And whatever anybody tells you don't book a B & B in Leith. I think there might be a few places in Ferry Road.

Well if my tenant times things as I suspect she will, I may have a flat to rent for a festival let - hurrah !! Cash-tastic...

P.S You do know it's the Festival ? Try Galashiels there's a great bus service.

Edit - sorry TJ but Leith is bandit country, and I lived there for 6 months so I know this from experience, not just prejudice. I had an injury and hand all bandaged up, sling etc, I had to get a friend to escort me to the cash machine.

Hels I have lived in leith for 20 years with no issues and only seen one incident in that time. Its far safer than other parts of the city

My friend used to live in Leith (two places). Where we stayed. I think parts of Manchester fall into the term 'Bandit Country' moreso than Leith ever will ๐Ÿ˜†

Is Bandit Country in Edinburgh a term used to describe the lower end of second homes for London folk? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Try searching for B and B or guest houses in goldenacre - close to the botanics and a fair few of them there

Hora, Flying Ox is closer to 32 and he doesn't manage a whole night's sleep either. Having someone else in the house with patchy sleep will no doubt improve his night as he won't be chatting to himself!

On a less serious note, he is a good guy so give him a shout for a price.
