I had the misfortune to be at a fundraiser where he was the keynote. His punchable face, general smug tossbagness mixed with the free bar made me tell him to piss off when he came schmoozing.

Horrible bastard.

Is an utter, utter arse. If the Labour Party wish to remain unelectable they can do no better than keeping that odious bullying twunt and his equally odious condescending wife on their front bench.

I'm not convinced they're all self serving. I wouldn't want to have to work that hard for their money, but I agree that he's a twunt.

If the Labour Party wish to remain unelectable....

I take it you haven't seen any opinion polls or by-election and local authority elections results for the last couple of years ?

The Labour Party appears to remain quite electable.

The only current Labour politician that the conservatives seem to fear

I just can't see how he get's referred to as a political 'heavyweight' in the media? He pretty much encapsulates everything I dislike about career politicians.

Yes, he does know his stuff about the economy, and, let's face it, Gideon is doing an A+ job of cocking it up.

However, that doesn't alter the fact that Balls is utterly, utterly unlikeable, and as such, the Labour Party realised that having him as leader would be electoral suicide.

Yes, he does know his stuff about the economy

Hmm, this 'spare' £4bn:

http://www.zdnet.com/uks-4g-auction-labour-lays-out-its-plans-for-4bn-windfall-7000005025/

Surely if its to be paid by the companies wanting to offer 4G, then they expect to receipt more from their customers, ie us. Then its not a spare £4bn to spend, but money that if not paid straight into paying off debt will actual just add to our overall debt. Or am I wrong?

Labour Party 15-point lead over the Conservative Party

Kinnock had a 24 point lead at one point

So did Michael Foot

The only way Millibean could have picked anyone with less economic credibility as chancellor, would have been to ask good old Gordon if he fancies another crack at it, as it went so well last time.

And he's got a head like a space hopper!

Good speech from Ed Tescticles today. I think he basically said "we're skint, we're £trillion's in debt and the solution is.... Yes comrades.... lets borrow some money to get out of debt"..... Not really surprising coming from the failure Brown's right hand man.

And while we're at it why don't we rename the country Greece?

I do however agree that we need to spend some money on infrastructure projects to get the economy moving. Makes a change to hear something sensible from captain odious.

If faced with Piers Morgan and Ed Balls, with a baseball bat to hand, I suspect they'd get off without a beating, because my indecision over which one to hit first would give them a chance to leg it!

You think so

He's right on the need for infrastructure spending and even as a raw meat eating rightie I have to admit that. Even if he stole the idea off the tories, who incidentally don't have the balls (excuse the pun) to carry it through in case they upset the shires e.g. HS2

Well I have to say that I'm hugely hearten to hear so much vitriol directed at Ed Balls, I did fear that his neo-liberal views and commitments such as this :

Labour will accept Tory cuts in full

would win him some sympathy from right-wingers on here - obviously not !

Let's hope that this loathing for Ed Balls is mirrored throughout Britain, so much so that Miliband is forced to replace him 🙂

Yep. Better to have Tories in the Tory party and the Socialists in the Labour party, it keeps everything nice and neat that way.
