[#2362910]

A (very large) seller hasn't bothered refunding my return andis not replying to my messages...worth hassling through ebay or just go to post office who will then chase them?

Sorry, dumb question, but why would the Post Office chase them?

I tell them the item, as far as I know, has not arrived.

Been there, done that, nothing doing.

If your return wasn't via confirmable delivery, I supppose you'll have to go via PO (might well need the seller to confirm that it hasn't arrived ?)

I doubt ebay will get involved (or did you just mean neg feedback?) - after all, the seller did deliver it to you initially. Unless they sent a courier to collect it I'd suspect it's your job to get it to them once you've decided to send it yourself.

as above - if you post something it's your responsibility until you can prove it arrived - whether you're the seller initially despatching it or the buyer returning it.

What sort of timescales are we talking about? We've had a lot of delays getting stuff out to customers recently. Seems like the RM are still catching up on the weather/festive period backlog (doesn't excuse the seller not responding to you though - that's just bad manners)

Durrrrrr what if it doesn't arrive?

It's my responsibility to post it then the recipient's to confirm receipt or otherwise, which it is not bothering its fat corporate arse to do.

Druidh: posted 6 December, several reminders from ebay and myself to seller. Only £18 but "it's the principal of the thing"...

durrrr - don't blame the person you posted it too or ebay and then there's no reason to ask the question on here as the answers already bleedin' obvious?

Perhaps, next time, sir could chose a method of delivery that doesn't rely on the recipient 'fessing up when it has arrived?

Bad sleep, or no sex last night, wasnotwas? Need another coffee? Please look for someone else to argue with.

Nothing unreasonable about me using regular post then expecting the recipient to respond to my messages.

Ah - we've not seen that sort of delay. More like "next day" taking a week.

No - it's your responsibility to ensure it reaches its destination. We send all stuff out "to be signed for". That way, we know it either got there or the RM still have it.

So I have a duty to send singed for so that the recipient can's get away with lying?

Puuurrrrllllleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaassssseeeee!!!

Sending is my responsibility of course. I pay RM to do that for me, and if they stuff up then it's the recipient's duty to confirm no receipt and RM's responsibility to compensate me.

did you start this thread just so you could hurl abuse at people who responded to it?

No, I just wanted folks' opinions, perhaps from those who have been there before (no such luck), but definitely not from al-haterz telling me a lot of crap.

Name and shame? It's nice to know who to avoid, and if it's a shop trading on eBay can you dig up a phone number and give em a bell

Yep, and you're entering into what lawyers ( 😉 ) call a contract with them. Luckily they have an accessible set of terms & conditions and also a claim form for you to use. (doesn't seem that you need any input from the other party, so just go for it)

I really don't understand what I've done wrong with my first post - I've said it's your responsibility to get it to the recipient (and thus by implication your claim is against RM for non-delivery). It's not crap, it's the facts.

I don't hate you - after all, I've never met you 😉

Try ringing, sometimes works better than emails which can be read and forgotten or ignored

I don't think the Royal Marines are to blame and I wouldn't advise chasing them, they would probably enjoy it.
Sorry.
