For those that used the online Easyjet refund form, has anyone had refunds within the 28 days? Day 23 here so not worried yet!

I've, this morning, filled in the refund form on the Covid-19-Help-Hub, for my flights to Rome and back. They were cancelled eariler this week for the outbound and only yesterday for the return. I shall be waiting but not holding my breath that this will be a quick refund. Their T&Cs stated it may take up to 90 days. Which, frankly, is a piss take.

Nothing for me after waiting 29 days since my claim went in. Not waiting 90 days as that is ridiculous.

I assume people are being emailed to say their flights are cancelled? We're supposed to be flying to Geneva from Lutn on the 11th July but the flights don't appear on Skyscanner or Google, so assuming they're cancelled, they're just not saying so as yet?

This email auto reply to my refund request

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting us and for submitting a refund request.

We are working hard to process your request as quickly as possible. Due to the exceptionally high volumes currently being processed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, we will try our best to complete your request within 28 days following submission. Please do not contact us regarding a previous request unless it has been more than 90 days since you made your original submission.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Kind regards,

So, they'll "try" to refund within 28 days, but don't contact them for 90 if they don't refund.

90 f****ing days, er, not having that

You might find that easy jet have moved you onto a different flight on the same day, but not emailed you about it yet. I think theyre consolidating flights together.

If you log onto easy jet and look at your booking you should be able to see the new flight details. This is what has happened to one of my flights in july, I have had no comms about it, but logging on to easyjet I can see that I am now on a flight that leaves earlier that day than the one I originally booked.

I have £500 wrapped up in some flights that were originally planned for a trip to Geneva for skiing in March, Covid meant I moved them to be a trip to Bordeaux in September. My wife's company has now introduced a policy where if you travel out of the UK you need to book 2 weeks holiday for isolation afterwards (totally impractical given limited holiday allowances) . Obviously September is still a way off and things may change travel and company policy-wise. But given this, do I stand any option of cancelling these flights and getting my money back? Easyjet site seems to say I can move them, but that's it.

Nope, still shows that we're on the same flight. If you go on the easyjet site it shows one flight for the whole of July and August to Geneva. I just want to know so I can let the people we're staying with that we won't be going!

Same story here with sleazy jet. £180 in flights to Pisa from Italy and £770 paid for flights to Munich in July. Requested refund for Italy and told to wait 90 days. The Munich flight is no longer bookable and when I log in I am invited to change flights so that will also be cancelled a few days before, and then I’ll have to wait for that refund.
Or alternatively spend hours dialling the customer service number...

Six weeks waiting for a refund now. I have a feeling that nothing will happen until I phone them after 90 days.

We were contacted yesterday to say our flights for the 24th of June to Geneva has been cancelled, it gives us 3 options, rebook (but only until May 21) take a voucher with a bit of a bonus or ask for a refund - all options are done electronically.

We've asked for a voucher, it took a whilst and didn't always seem like it was going to happen, but we've managed to shift everything over 1 year, taking a bit of a gamble they stick to the last weekend in June for Passportes.

Just to say I got a refund today from Easyjet to my credit card. I filled out the online claim form on the 24th April and left it at that. Took 56 days but they got there in the end and I didn't have to phone them.

I am also booked for Geneva on the 12th July from Luton with easyjet . Just waiting to get the email about cancellation. Not feeling confident it will happen.

Just phoned SleazyJet to chase up my refund. I claimed on 23rd May, received a confirmation email with the 28 days, but upto 90 days.

I used the 0161 774 9861, option 1 number. Got through within a few minutes. They are now refusing refunds from Customer Services, only the Refund Department, which they can't access, apparently.

So either wait the up to 90 days or claim through my credit card. Credit Card here I come.

We changed our flights to Cyprus to later flights in the hope Cyprus would relax their restrictions but they are still not accepting Brits on the new dates. It's less than 14 days away and still not cancelled and I don't know what to do now. They want to charge £32 per person, per flight to change them again but that's no good to us as this trip was a year in the planning and it's unlikely that we can get all the people booked on the flight together at the same time again.

I had a flight cancelled, it was due to depart on 30th May and opted for the refund as it was for a group of 6 mates.
I received an email on the 4th of July to say a refund had been sent to my credit card. I hasn't appeared on my account yet but I am sure that will happen in due course.
I booked, at a later date, another seat on the same flight. I requested a refund on that seat but I have not received a communication regarding that refund yet. I think that 90 days is plenty of time for EasyJet to deal with these refunds and will assume that they manage to hit their deadline.

Experiences earlier in this thread, including mine, are that cancellation will come only a couple of days before departure. Travel advice may change in a couple of weeks and of course they want you to blink first and re-book so they don't have to go to the effort and cost of issuing a refund.

I took up the incentivised offer of a voucher for the outbound to geneva I was due to be on last Wednesday, returning This tuesday. Both flights cancelled by easyjet and removed from mybookings on the account, but not a sniff of a voucher yet and v difficult to get through.

UPDATE:

I've got 200 quids worth of flights with EJ: should I go for the refund or the voucher? I'm sure at one point I remember reading you could fly anywhere you wanted in the EU at any time and route, but now they seem to only be deducting the value of the flight voucher?

(Ignore: you can just change the flight airport for free and/or request refund or voucher.)

After my phone call and subsequent rant that 90 days is taking the piss, I had an email on the 5th to say my refund had been processed, funds are now back on my credit card.

My girlfriend and I were due to fly from Edinburgh to Madrid three weeks ago for a fortnight road trip round the North of Spain (gutted).

Both flights were cancelled two weeks in advance, where we applied for a refund using the link on the emails received (only taking a minute each time to input some details).

Pleased to have received a full refund yesterday (was expecting Easyjet to hold the funds for as long as possible, and for me to have to fight for it!).

Bumping this one to see anyone can help.

Just had an email from easyJet to say our return flight from Italy is cancelled. However the outbound is not (yet).

I've requested a refund by filling out the form online. It only asked for booking number, email and am I the lead booker. I'm not expecting it any time soon, but all consumer advice says we are due a refund for both flights.

Has anyone received a full refund for their booking when there was just one cancelled flight?

I haven't yet but will do

My outbound to morzine was cancelled Friday and I claimed the refund, however the card I paid with is no longer valid (new bank) I emailed customer service Saturday, they amazingly replied Tuesday and took my new bank details to manually process it

So only one flight was cancelled but both were refunded when you filled out the form?

Now you mention it, my card has also expired, damn, I'd forgotten that. It's going to need a call isn't it?

Edit I just received an email to say it's been processed

I’ve had an email from easyJet today regarding a refund for a cancelled flight that was due to go on Sunday. I requested a refund as soon as I got the cancellation email 2 weeks ago. It says it will be processed in 30 days. Great. I had another flight cancelled back in April when they were telling everyone to phone up. I initially accepted a voucher and then when online refunds were being processed I applied for one. I started the refund process 2nd of May so nearly 90 days ago.
I wonder if current/recent refunds are being processed reasonably quickly but old ones aren’t being looked at.
Has anyone had a refund after initially accepting a voucher? Anyone had a refund from a flight back in March or April? Was much chasing required?
I’ve emailed the address suggested above.

I received my email today saying the refund would be in 30 days of my initial application. Which is fine but I've put two in outward and return as I received two cancellation emails. I'm not worried just a bit confused as both had the same booking number. So processed as one, two halves, or double money back😆?

My outbound flight scheduled July 27th was cancelled but not the return on August 1st. I applied for a refund and am expecting the whole amount to be refunded in lines with EU (which UK is still classed as part of for this) guidance. Apparently I should be refunded by August 5th.
It's just disconcerting that my return flight is still waiting for me to check in and that I've recently been told the departure time has changed.

@goslow, yep, that's what I am thinking about the refund. It should be the full thing, it's just concerning that the Return flight is cancelled but outbound is waiting for me to check in!

Ah well, we'll see what happens. Will drop them am email about the card details though and keep fingers crossed!

Yep both legs refunded at same times. Got the email today. To be fair to them that's 21 days from me "applying" for refund to payment and there must be a fair few. Didn't resort to special numbers or emails just let it happen.

Rebumping this give an update, maybe for your interest @goslow?

As I was still receiving emails from easyJet relating to my outbound flight (only the return flight in the booking was cancelled) I decided to call the 0161 774 9861 number this morning at 8am.

I was on hold for 2 minutes then straight through to a very helpful person who confirmed the following:

My return flight was cancelled and I had requested an online refund.

I would not be using the outbound flight.

I did not want vouchers, I wanted a refund.

The outbound flight was not currently being refunded as part of the online refund request.

Apparently if you put in a request to refund for your booking but only one leg has been cancelled, although they are duty bound to refund the whole booking, they will only refund the non-cancelled leg if you call them up to request it.

Both legs have now been refunded and will be back on my card in 7 days, full price of both flights and extras. When I check my bookings I can see there are no bookings to view.

Winner!!

PS. If you got both your flights refunded even though only one was cancelled just by applying online then that's great. I'm juts telling you what happened with my booking.

PPS. My daughter pointed out that all their hold music involved the word human! Rag'n'Bone Man - Human, The Killers - Human, Not so subliminal messaging perhaps?

So had my flights binned by them...

But I've heard a rumour they're dropping that particular flight.

I can still swap them to a 2021 date foc but if they can the route what then.

Anyone know how you can find if the route is at risk?

To be honest @duncancallum, I'd go for the refund, unless you absolutely know you want to travel to that place at that time, and you'll be able to, or your travel insurance will cover ALL reasons for not being able to travel. (Barring the FOC advising against travel there - that should be an automatic refund reason).

However, I'd imagine if they can the route then that's cancelled flights so you'd be entitled to a refund on the booking.

Also, if you swap I believe there's no charges but you have to pay the difference. What would that be? I remember looking when this all first kicked off and it was cheaper to buy new flights and lose the cost of the initial flights as the "rebook" price was so much higher than just buying them.

However, IANATAOER (I am not a travel agent or easyJet rep!) so what do I know...skips off to spend refund on ferry to Santander!

I do still and am planning on going to the same place

Flights are showing as available I'm concerned if I rebook or swap and they drop the flight I'm knackered

Be aware that you'll still have to pay any price increases on flights, luggage etc. The FOC refers to the lack of admin fees

I got an email about my cancellation at the end of August, I completed the request for a refund, but of course my credit card number has changed since it was originally charged. Anyone still waiting for a refund from the end of August ish? I forgot to copy the email to somewhere useful and now seem to have no record of the refund or whether it was on a 30,60,90 day schedule.

Any abuse welcomed for not being well organised 😉

Ignore me, email located and 'do not contact us unless it has been 90 days' - what the hell takes 90 days to issue a refund, do sloths write their IT systems in Luton?

heres a tip for easyjet refunds (if it hasnt already been given).....

phone them if you want the refund quicker (a lot quicker). i was told this after id already applied online but thought what the hell, nowt to lose. rang them and said i wasnt sure if my online application had gone through cos my laptop froze, waited about 5 minutes on hold, then told i should have it within 3-5 days.
5 days later, in the bank.

We had conversation yesterday with our bank - we are going to get our section 75 completed by next month, that is £1700 between Easy Jet, WestJet and Air Transat flights.

I'm glad we have, next year is looking wobbly already and flight prices have rocketed.
