Needed for me and my other half. Two dogs. Camping trip with both dogs and two bikes.
Sorry to bang on here and I like my E91 a lot but if that's your main intended use you really don't want one, it'll be pretty tight for 2 dogs, 2 bikes and camping gear unless you get a roofbox or carry the bikes outside the car. It's quite small on the inside compared to its outside dimensions, there's a lot of bonnet doing nothing to help you stow stuff. A Mk 5 Mondeo is about the same width and less than a foot longer but the interior space is in a whole different class, that's the kind of thing I'd be going for.
Having driven and been passenger in many 3 series and owned a mondeo, the bmw is nicer to drive and definitely has nicer seats.
But for maximum space the mondeo blows it away.
Genuinely, it’s a tough choice.
Subaru legacy/outback? Somewhere between mondeo and bmw for space, pretty reliable.
