So, at work we have two main roles. One is bike hire - sorting out customers, washing and servicing bikes - the other is a cyclists taxi service aimed at LEJOGers but also folk doing the Hebrides, Great Glen Way etc. I'm doing the rota this year and mainly giving myself the longer drives. How long before I become mechanically incompetent, have to resort to 1x gearing and forget how to fit a tyre without breaking something?

I'd be driving too slowly.  That's a much better way.

I’ll bring the full fleet up on my next trip north. You can service them for the skillz

I would do the same.

Manky hire bikes Vs lovely view, bantz with the clients and a cheeky coffee somewhere nice...

The worst bit is being jealous of dropping folk off as they head away to do some great rides. For instance I've  to pick up a group of 6 from Ullapool on Sat morning and take them to Bonar Bridge to start a C2C.
