trying to upload photos from my phone and camera but laptop is saying that there is a problem with the drivers any ideas to why they would go missing>

Any file can get corrupted at any time, really, including your drivers. If you go to programs and features in control panel, you might find some software for your camera listed there. If you remove that software and then reinstall it, it should work.
