yep, that ^^^ and the Volvo Amazon please.
It's the Honda NSX for me. Total classic, and almost in the realm of sensible affordability. I've even got over my teenage disgust with what I thought was too big a back end.
I'd have to have the engine modified to an obscene degree of power though. Those VTEC engine sure do like a supercharger....

I was fortunate enough to look after a few mates rally cars back in the '70s
Mini 1293s built by Tony Blower
An ex Graham Elsmore Grp1 Mk1 Escort
Mk2 Mexico with Burton engine
Mk1 Mexico self build.
Hillman Imp and a GT6 track car. GT6 had triple Webbers and sounded awesome 😆
My choice would be a Mini.....
However a bright orange Lamborghini overtook us whilst riding along the banks of Ulswater in July, the sight and sound was jaw dropping, could hear it for miles barely getting out of 1st/2nd gear ❗
General Mayhem

From the best TV show to never be on TV, Roadkill.
Looks like there's a bit of love for a couple of mates vehicles:

knew you'd be in here 😉
A Tatra? I've always thought of them as big VW Beetles.
Yes exactly, Mr Porsche was looking over Mr Tatra's shoulder when he designed what became the Beetle
Im gonna have nightmares tonight looking at that RS Orion....
The mk1 one RS Turbo (mk 3 escort) was actually quite cool ... The mk2 was total wnk and an
Orion version 🙁 did the factory ever do something so cock.
RS1600i cabriolets were quite nice at time ....
Thank god for rust and twocing wiping out history's little aberrations 🙂
Huh, that and overpaid and none too sober fishermen - round our way anyway.. ditches used to be lined with them come Sunday morning when the boats came in to land..
For reasons I won't bore you with now, imo, the Camaro of the late 60s truely is a thing of beauty, as is the Miura, which as well as possibly being one of the top 3 most beautiful cars ever made by man, represents a design we could never see certified for our roads, ever again. A true design of its time.
Currently, I work in a design studio, having an input into the cars of tomorrow. Legislation means we will never again, see the likes of some of the cars that have been posted on this thread, Brussels has seen to that and as far as making cars safer, I have to agree that it's a worthy direction to channel car design into, although it will forever consign some of the beautiful designs we see here, to the history books.
Thanks for all the pictures, great thread!
😀
Oops, not so sure about the Camaro in blue....

With an RS6 Avante for daily use. First, though, I'd have to 'persuade' the current owner to part with them... 😉
Oh, and a side-order of one of these for warm, sunny days:
@kiwijohn, of all the cars... You could have the F-bomb, but no, you want the scabrous charger that you could build yourself for 50p. I conclude that you are a wrong 'un.
At least it's not the Rotsun, Northwind.
too many to list new and old -
however check this out

Right, if we're talking muscle-cars, I did have an obsession with the 69-70 Dodge Charger, but that later turned into a deep-rooted desire, nay need for one of these:
'70 Plymouth Hemi-'Cuda. Considered to be the pinnacle of muscle car development. I think they're just beautifully proportioned.
A full-spec, cherry example, around $2-2.5 million, apparently...
kiwijohn - MemberAt least it's not the Rotsun, Northwind.
Heh, that was the first episode I saw- there's a gorgeous 260 you sometimes see around Peebles, I pointed it out to a mate and he mentioned a Rotsun as a more likely option on my budget 😆
My very limited experience of Muscle Cars is that they're fantastic in the straight lines and gentle bends that make up a quantity of the US. Ie, utterly inappropriate in the UK.
Ie, I love the idea of a Mustang or a Charger, but in practical terms I'd have to change countries.
(Also, great thread, btw)
Either a TR6 (cos Mrs Peel had one and it was cool) or a Tesla please.
1071 cooper s. Don't wrap it, I'll drive it home.
Cougar, you're absolutely right about the handling of virtually all of the original muscle cars, along with pretty shonky brakes as well. However, the current crop, in particular the Camaro, are a whole other animal, decent suspension and handling, brakes, etc, they can go round twisty bits very rapidly indeed.

.98g on a dusty skid-pan, apparently.
