^^^^^^^
I had an identical mk2 golf to that a long time ago with a 16v engine from a mk3 I think.
Beautiful car till I smashed the life out of it.

I am going with a lamboghini muira
I have wanted one for as long as I can remember.

As a rule of thumb I would say never drive your dream (car).
As you may have guessed, I have an exception 😉

It may be stunning, but if you have driven one in the wet at around (or a touch over) the speed limit on the tyres they used to have then you will understand why dream cars are not the cars you once dreamed of!

I've always fancied a 7 ever since I was a slack jawed six year old watching a load of blokes rock up at Oulton Park in them. Not sure I'd fit in one though.

I was going to add a Porsche 917 to my post.
But I thought we were talking road cars.

I'd happily take a 911 Carrera S or a Cayman GTS and while probably not as technically good as those two, it'd probably have to be on of these in my garage

Two pages and not a single F1. The pedal assembly is more beautiful than some of the cars posted here.

This is a sad reflection of the cheesy late 70's, early 80's when I was at most impressionable.

It might not beautiful but when I was about 8 years old this was the dream. I'd still have one..

[img] [/img]

In the same vein this was always awesome..
[img] [/img]

Luckily for my fledgling tastes my brother had one of these, which would be the first thing I get if the lottery lands in my lap.

They say never drive your dream.

Always liked the F40, so when I was offered a passenger run in one I jumped at the chance. Even better when I was offered to actually drive it! Did it match my expectations? Perfectly. Raw but smooth in every way, especially once you pass a ton 😀

Was offered a 355 at silly money during a lull in prices way back, had the cash available but for some reason I declined. Regretted that ever since.

Current wish list is a Nissan R390 or an early NSX.

The Panoz was always crazily loud at Lemans.

Yes, yes they were 😯 sadly good videos are few are far between

R390s were very cool to see race too (in between melting their oil coolers) but just looked a bit like.....well..... a Nissan in comparison 😉

I know its not a "dream" car but I think there are many more aesthetically interesting choices that aren't fast or supercars:

In South Africa you can still find rust free Ford Cortina pick ups with Essex 3litre V6 motors in, which sound beautiful.
Epic drift cars before drifting was invented.
Dodgy '80 brakes mean you need to plan your stops.
Moustache optional.

The Panoz was always crazily loud at Lemans.

The sound is probably one of my most prominent memories. They made sleep difficult!

Or

Though, yes, an R6 estate would do fine. And be faster and better.

It was always a Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 4x4 but recently its a Focus RS as that's more achievable due to them being newer.

A Guy who's a Mate of a Mate has Ferraris, Bentleys etc and they do nothing for Me, I'm a Chav at heart 😳 😉

+1000 for the Karman Ghia. absolutely beautiful

Numbnut: how does the gullwing driver fit all those bollards and chains in the back of their car at the end of the show?...

A fella in the year below me at school's mum one the football pools and bought him a delta integrale for his 17th birthday.

And I once spent two days walking the streets of hounslow looking for a karrman ghia I had seen rotting away on some ones front drive about five years before.

I eventually found it in an even more sorry state but the owner refused my continued pleas to sell it to me.

If I have one regret car wise it's not buying either a Karman Ghia or Merc SL 20 years ago, they where 1/3rd of the price they are now 🙁

My dream bike car, have loved these since I first saw them as a teenager in rural France way back in the 70's. Best pic I could find.

This is on fleabay at present & I'd be quite tempted to chop the Abarth in for it if I didn't know how stupendously fragile they are:
[img] [/img]

At some point I have to own one of these, no matter how flawed:

More quizzically alluring Italian idiosyncrasy:

I still miss 'proper' GT-1 🙁 All my dream cars are from that era, but wont bother drowning the thread in photos:

McLaren F1 'Long-tail'
Porsche 911 GT1 (Evo)
Mercedes CLK-GTR (still have a signed poster)
Nissan R390
Lotus Elise GT1
Panoz GTR-1 (obviously)
Toyota GT1

Even the slightly flawed attempts at glory like the Marcos, Lister and Viper 🙂
