Whilst we get an extra hours sleep on Sunday, spare a thought for the National Trust Volunteers who work tirelessly through the night to move the stones back 1 hour at various stone circles around the country side. This is done twice a year to make sure the stones align correctly with the sun.

Time this nonsense stopped.  It's dark in the morning anyway.   Think of the carbon footprint of all that mechanised lifting.

Is there actually a valid reason any more for the clocks changing?

Not only are the clocks going back an hour tonight, our club rides are starting 30 minutes early tomorrow morning. What can go wrong?

At 15 and 13, my kids need telling to spend an extra hour in bed. Getting them out is the problem!

Not what you want hear @goldfish24 but it does change.

Never understood why it happens at 2am, surely there is a better time to be changing clocks?

The last pattern I worked was notable for the person getting the short BST shift also had the long GMT shift. A remarkable stroke of luck for management and wages!

Getting a preview of how GMT will look at this time from tomorrow, been very overcast this afternoon, no chance of getting the 1750 BST sunset... At this rate it will be dark by then. 🙁

I too would like to know this. Just seems like more traditional bollocks that needs to be stopped.

Well, last time I was around Avebury at this time of year, there was a lot of heavy lifting gear parked up in nearby carparks. And that is Avebury in the photo.

Has to be heavy lifting gear to convince the tourists - the ‘stones’ are glassfibre replicas because the original stones were broken up to build the houses in the village.
