I apologise ninfan you were merely victim blaming and supporting a religious hate crime. Is that better?

No, as I said, I think you'll find I made a far, far more amusing comment about the impact of banning Muslims.

I apologise if the irony inherent in the statement wasn't obvious

Harsh words 😀

I shall self flaggelate tonight at the horrific slur I made against Ernies character, akin to being savaged by a dead sheep, which has clearly affected him so badly that he chose to bring it up again,

It's trump I feel sorry for, long after he's washed up, hated, imprisoned, unhaired and more orange it's the memory of the support of ninfan that'll keep him up at night.

I note, ninfan, that you are avoiding my description of Trump's personality disorders as displayed by his behaviour.

He is reported, by eminent American psychologists, as suffering from Malignant Narcissism. The psychiatrists in question found his behaviour so worrying, in terms of his role as President, that they were prepared to disobey their Prime Rule of not issuing a diagnosis without face to face consultation.

If you don't find this reason enough to be concerned with his malign influence on world events that affects millions of us and may very likely result in catastrophy, you are even less relevant to this debate than you have seemed so far.

Are you aware of why that is a 'prime rule'

What would you say about a doctor who broke the code of ethics?

Quick everyone, run, the sky is falling, the sky is falling - you forget that we heard that about every republican president since the sixties, look at the hysterical nonsense that we saw about Reagan in the Eighties, I'm still waiting for the Third World War the lefties predicted then.

Is it time for the daily 'they feed off your replies so don't feed the low powered trolls etc etc'.

TBH, I do wonder what else ninfan does with his time given the amount he can dedicate to taking on allcomers. For that he should be commended....I guess.

Why are you avoiding the issue of his personality disorder and it's potential for catastrophe?

" 'prime rule'
https://www.psychiatry.org/news-room/apa-blogs/apa-blog/2016/08/the-goldwater-rul e"

Apropos of nothing:

I was playing Rugby once and one of our guys got winded and hit the deck. One of *their* spectators rushed onto the pitch and earnestly insisted that he'd had a blow to the head and couldn't play on. He was obviously a Doctor and his demeanour and authority left no room for doubt. The ref sent him off.

It was only after that we discussed it and none of us had any recollection of the guy getting knocked on the head and the bloke himself was adamant he hadn't banged his head at all.

Consultation with the other team revealed the Guy was a Market Gardener.

Tickled me.

I keep thing simple because I do not see value in their belief.

You are in fantasy land if you think you are equal to their belief. You are not.

ninfan - Member

The exact quote was:

You don't think that Ernie is just a little bit intolerant of those holding different opinions?

Now, I'd say that was pretty uncontroversial, however I shall look forward with trepidation to the Libel letter Ernie

"Pretty uncontroversial" LOL who said anything about controversial?! You challenged TJ when he claimed that I wasn't a bigot, despite having never met me.

It was a perfectly reasonable thing to do, if you thought TJ might be wrong. In the same way that it's perfectly reasonable to claim that Trump is 'narcissistic' without actually meeting him. Which obviously was my point - but of course you knew that.

I agree with Woppit, Trump is imo narcissistic, and vain - look how touchy he gets when people mention the size of his hands, which is a strange reaction from someone who is willing to publicly mock a disabled man.

Btw ninfan I take insults from you as compliments, I would be horrified if you didn't feel the need to insult me! 🙂

In some ways ninfan makes more sense in the context of outside interference where trolls were paid to derail stuff and only highlight negatives from other sides. His constant other people did stuff arguments rather than having an opinion on the event fit with that. It's got nothing to do with the subject being discussed just to move it from that topic.

Back to Trump, what is the general method of failure for the ego maniac or the boss who insists they make all the calls? In my experience they either have a heart attack or get pushed under the bus.

Tom called Ernie a bigot. I stated that IMO and from what I read on here he is not. Ninfan used weasel words to make the claim he was a bigot without actually saying so.

NInfan just is a right wing contrarian and used whataboutery and clever quoting to make his points. Its fine trolling.

Does anyone know what the actual process for impeachment is? I know they can do it for pretty much anything if they choose to do so but not sure what the actual step by step details are.

From wiki

The federal procedure in the United States involves a vote for impeachment in the House of Representatives on a document known as the Article of Impeachment. Each separate grounds will be a separate Article. House members who support the impeachment then appoint managers who will act like prosecutors in the preparation for the Senate hearing. The hearing for removal is conducted in the Senate and in the case of the impeachment of a President, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States presides over the proceedings (otherwise the Vice-president presides) which are conducted as a trial with witnesses being heard under oath or affirmation. The defendant has the right to legal counsel, the right to cross-examine all witnesses and to testify in his defense. The senators must also take an oath or affirmation that they will perform their duties honestly and with due diligence. The Hearing cannot be conducted without a 50% plus one quorum. After the Hearing the deliberations are held in private. Removal requires a two-thirds majority of the Senate.

Uncle slick looks like he's gotten perma-lost fumbling in the ladies room for grabees. Now gave some kind of strange auto-wedding/self-awards/who-really-knows type after-dinner-speech. Is it just me or is the whole thing surreal beyond any US presidency to date?

Edit: 11:46-ish he tells us he's going to 'straighten out the World'. And it's 'not going to be pretty for a while'.

The top comment from that Youtube link.

God bless our great President who loves America so much. The Lord's hand is on his shoulder as he steers the ship of state into safer waters. We need his super human strength in this troubling time.?

Somebody just went full Trump.

Mark my words - every joke that anyone has ever made at Trump's expense has been logged in his mental ledger. Stored up in his giant camel-hump of schoolboy grudges. This narcissistic babyman will now 'get his own back' and go to war against the World, starting with the Holy Tinderbox that is the Middle East. The traditional playground of US Presidents.

it weird he wants to be isolationist and sort out the world as well

I think the problem is Trump is a bully who wants things his way he fails to realise so do other countries -ironically he will fall out with folk who are only doing what he would do were the situation reversed
He also fails to realise that countries wont act like businesses as they are often as full of hubris and pride as he is and wont be swayed by money like he is.

As for the middle east after we tried the majestic tony blair as a peace envoy then i can think of no one more qualified to bring peace to the region than Trump and his "diplomatic" team

There was an interview with Richard Branson where he talked about a meeting that he'd had with Donald Trump: much of the meeting was taken up with Trump ranting about how he'd "deal with" other business leaders who'd backed out of dealing with him.

Regardless of whether you agree with his policies or not, Trump's character is ill suited to the nuances of politics: he's a thin skinned, grudge bearing, bully.

Whitestone, I remember reading that before the election.

Meeting Donald Trump

Some years ago, Mr Trump invited me to lunch for a one-to-one meeting at his apartment in Manhattan. We had not met before and I accepted. Even before the starters arrived he began telling me about how he had asked a number of people for help after his latest bankruptcy and how five of them were unwilling to help. He told me he was going to spend the rest of his life destroying these five people.

He didn’t speak about anything else and I found it very bizarre. I told him I didn’t think it was the best way of spending his life. I said it was going to eat him up, and do more damage to him than them. There must be more constructive ways to spend the rest of your life. (Hopefully my advice didn’t lead to him running for President!)

I was baffled why he had invited me to lunch solely to tell me this. For a moment, I even wondered if he was going to ask me for financial help. If he had, I would have become the sixth person on his list!

I left the lunch feeling disturbed and saddened by what I’d heard. There are a lot of frightening things about this election; not least that policy has been pushed so far down the agenda. What concerns me most, based upon my personal experiences with Donald Trump, is his vindictive streak, which could be so dangerous if he got into the White House. For somebody who is running to be the leader of the free world to be so wrapped up in himself, rather than concerned with global issues, is very worrying.

Bowling Green Massacre?

It's alternative facts...sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin. In an interview recently whilst defending Trumps "Non-Islamic" travel ban, Kellyanne Conway referred to Obama's 2011 order to pause immigration from Iraq as two Iraqi men had been arrested in Bowling Green, Kentucky plotting to send money to Al-Queda in Iraq. Now, Conway suggested that there had been a "Massacre" in Bowling Green that hadn't been reported... In reality there had been no such massacre, and it was made up, the two had just been arrested for trying to send money and weaponry, and in fact no charges to date have been bought (needs verification)

More fake news.

Yes, if only allegations of this nature had been known about before the election, so that the American people could pass their own opinion of the issue and upon his suitability for office?

Oh....

@THM/OOB, I think this could be a new pastime, Insulting people without saying anything insulting. It could potentially improve relations between everyone here exponentially.
