Some dogs can get destructive if left on their own for too long.
Especially if the owners are not trained correctly.. Seperation anxiety is the main reason why dogs are destructive when left alone.
You can make a dog feel secure if you have a cage (of the correct size)for your dog..It's not as cruel as it sounds!!
In our dogs case, a little too secure, she prefers her cage to anywhere else in the house. Also damn handy when you go away, as the dog loves its cage and its not a problem taking the dog n cage with you.

phyncra, I just see a red cross for your dog, I'm afraid.
Mine's a trailhound - they're typically a mixture of of foxhound, pointer, harrier and sheepdog. My other trailhound has a bit of labrador in her though - she's a lot stockier and has that canine dustbin gene.
