[#1452907]

I would like to do a lot of cycling abroad and about our country next year. I want to find out if anyone has been caught up in one of these flash floods or similar events and what exactly took place.

They seem pretty horrendous and if you have kids, terrifying as well. Anyone been caught up in extreme weather conditions?

And do you have any advice on dealing with them.

Been in the middle of several cyclones and a couple of floods as a result.

You don't deal with them. You make sure they don't deal with you.

Does anyone think that if you live in an area that suffers from flooding a life preserver in a cuboard might not be a bad idea!

are you a mentalist or something? i've travelled all over, from NZ to South America and never felt the need to investigate flash flooding prior to departure. if you want to go somewhere go somewhere. sounds like pipe dreams. unreal

😕

Surely all you need to do is work out where the stars are and then apply your theory of 'Stellar Realignment', which will give you warning of extreme weather conditions ?

Can't you do that ? ......no ?

I feel let down and disappointed now 😐

Sounds dreadful.

I bet you won't let yourself get caught up in poor light conditions again.

Have you got a life preserver in your cupboard btw ?

Have you got one like this ?

You can pedal your way to safety.

I definitely want one, but I'm not sure where you can buy them. Any ideas ?

I've made my own out of uranium filled sheep intestine and a couple of old pub bikes, I also occasionally use them to remove excess heel callouses by pedaling at a tremendous speed. Its quite a marvel to behold.

Not me mate.

Ever hung your washing on the washing line and a flash flood comes along and washes all your washing away ?

I hate it when that happens.
