Contemplating a 2.0l derzel but wanted to get first hand accounts.....
Any thoughts good/bad?
it's one ugly mother of a car
aesthetics aside 🙂
Some reviews are not very good.
However, my mate bought one a few months ago and he really likes it. The look is not to my taste but then if we were all the same it would be a pretty boring world. For what it's worth I've been in it and I thought it was alright. If it's the right price then why not?...
Briefly driven one and am happy with the ride etc - engine seemed good - just don't know about the reliability of them.
Crappy interior plastics acknowledge 🙂
Have a look here:

General consensus seems to be that as it's a new car the reliability is hard to predict. However - they are very popular in the US so that should give some confidence. If the warranty is good then that should put your mind at rest a bit anyway.
[edit] - they have an owners club too. This will be the best place for advice and real life owning etc...

I wouldn't buy one for the simple reason the residual value on trade in will be horrific.
Uglier than Gary Neville after being beaten with a particularly ugly ugly stick.
Plus we all know americans build crappy cars...
Hateful - a pretend offroader that's 2WD.
I'd rather walk. With a broken leg. And the Norovirus.
Looks like a plastic pile of American sh*te.
Awful car. It's cheap for a reason. Buy something better secondhand.

HAAHAHAHAHAHA!
Americans are famous for buying and driving around in utter crap. The manufacturers have to spend all their profits on paying pensions to ex employees, and have nothing left over to actually design and build something decent. They know this and therefore persuade people to buy their latest same old crap re-hashed by fitting it with rubbish toys that break.
Imagine producing a "sports car" with a solid rear axle. Like what Transit vans have. Dear me.
It would have to be very very cheap to be anywhere near the top of my list. Can't think of anything about it that something else for similar list price doesn't do a lot better. Got to ask the question: Why?
"However - they are very popular in the US so that should give some confidence"
This was a quote from a respected car site btw.
Kaliber = Alchohol free beer.
Caliber = Fun free car.......

but that's because they don't have corners in the states.
Had one of them in the US as a rental.
Shite car. Can't see out. Uncomfortable. American, with all that means for build quality, reliability, parts and resale.
Not surprising they cut the odd corner
but they don't have corners in the states....
😉
They do have windy roads, but they are not made properly. Long open corners and they don't have the right camber or something. Trying to drive them quickly is a right chore. Something to do with the car or the road or something, but it's awful.
My father in law likes his cars, and he bitterly laments all the old 80s and 90s American cars he was made to drive by his company. They were apparently so bad at speed too that you daren't take them over 80mph. He always bought British small sportscars in his youth, now buys German.

I wasn't actually being serious 🙄
Well for a large part of the country mate you are absolutely right! Very very few corners indeed. Really.
