If they're looking for something on the ground, they have to be banked over so they can see out of the windows.

I've posted about this before. I'm directly under one of those circles. Thought I was imagining it until somebody confirmed with FlightRadar. So it's police? Why circle over my house? I've committed very little crime today.

They are fairly new. Apparently cheaper to run and longer flight time than the helicopters.

They circle like this when overhead a VIP convoy. Lots of this type of activity along the M8 whilst Biden was travelling betwwen Edinburgh hotel and COP in Galsgow.
