No.
Yes
No, nor cucumber now either.
No
No, nor tomatoes either.
No, but houmous I do.
Why else would you get an egg tray with a fridge?
Now Ketchup... that's a big one to ask
(Chocolate definitely in the fridge)
No, because it dries out the essential oils in the shell and makes them go off faster (as I understand it)
(Chocolate definitely in the fridge)
well I guess it separates the good chocolate from the bad. You don't want a Terry's Chocolate Orange that's been in the fridge - it's all waxy
NO! Room temperature.
Eggs no, ketchup yes. Heinz ketchup says on the back "refrigerate after opening".
egg info - the official voice of the British egg industry says:
- Keep eggs in their original boxes when storing - this ensures any odours from surrounding foods are shut out
- If you take eggs out of their box, make sure you store and use them in date order
- Store eggs at a constant temperature below 20°C - this maintains freshness and quality. The fridge is the best place to keep them in domestic kitchens
- Take them out of the fridge half an hour before cooking for the best results
That said, I've never kept them in the fridge.
Mayonnaise you do, so why not eggs?
Eggs, no. Chocolate, yes. Ketchup, no. Who wants cold ketchup on hot chips?
Apples, yes. Seems to make them crunchier and sweeter (jazz apples in particular).
Yes...but I've been told to so I've no reason to question the request.
Eggs yes, Ketchup Yes, Chocolate No
Used to but no longer do. Having done it both ways now there is no benefit to keeping them in the fridge. they last long enough out of the fridge and are easier to cook from room temp.

Because eggs are in their nice little shell with that membrane protecting the white and yolk. You wouldn't crack an egg into a bowl and leave it on the side for a few days before cooking it but they last for weeks in their shells.
Always keep out of the fridge. Even when they’re a few days past the date on them they pass the float test and taste fine - usually they’re all gone way before then though. Keep space in the fridge for stuff that needs to be kept properly cold.
Now Ketchup… that’s a big one to ask
It has been asked here many times before. The middle classes keep theirs in the fridge the lower orders keep theirs in the cupboard. CFH never ventures below stairs so doesn't know where cook keeps it.
I've had my eggs cryogenically frozen.
I prefer to keep them in the chickens but if one of the little buggers plops one out then it doesnt go in the fridge. Every now and again one goes rogue and wonders off and starts laying somewhere else. Sometimes we go weeks before finding a whole pile and they're still OK to eat even then as long as its been in the shade and not too warm.
Eggs no. Ketchup, who cares it's for kids and they'd put it on tomotoes!
Brown sauce should never go near a fridge.
Apples, yes. Seems to make them crunchier and sweeter
Odd that would be the case - chilling stuff generally reduces its perceived sweetness - things like ice cream and ice lollies would be revoltingly sweet if you had them at room temperature.
No, because I'm not American.
Why else would you get an egg tray with a fridge?
Because people.
Eggs - No
Chocolate - my wife tends to put it in, I'm not fussed
Tomatoes - Yes, even though I know it is madness to do so
Ketchup - Yes ("Red Sauce" - kill yourself)
I take them out of the nesting box in morning and eat them straight away at the moment as don't have enough chickens to create a surplus. When we have more chickens again I will be storing them in fridge as there is a nice safe spot for them to avoid breaking them.
No.
Keeping eggs in the fridge is an American invention because they treat their eggs before sale in such a way that means the shells can be compromised by bacteria, we don’t.
Eggs, ketchup, mayonnaise and chocolate never see a fridge in this house.
I bet the folk that refrigerate eggs are the same ones that struggle to get a good poached egg.

Coming to a trade deal near you soon.
Eggs - no
chocolate - in the summer
Ketchup and brown sauce - no
Eggs - yes but remove plenty of time before baking with them. Chocolate - as a rule no but sometimes its quite nice especailly after one has melted. Ketchup - no because I put it on hot stuff like sausages!
Who keeps chocolate long enough to warrant refrigeration? You freaks.
Also, I imagine ketchup is on of those products that was created so it didn’t have to be refrigerated- it’s so full of vinegar and salt it would survive the apocalypse in a darkened cupboard.
Chocolate yes I hate room temp chocolate.
Ketchup no.
Eggs - no, but only because when we moved the house came with a tiny (and pretty crap) fitted fridge and we can't spare the space.
Ketchup - yes because, you're supposed too. I'm told that the worst kind of people not only don't refrigerate it, but actually keep it on the table. How much are you using if the temp of your food is changed by a condiment?
Chocolate, no, we freeze it. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Not me - but some people do it to dull the sweetness not because they're worried it'll go off. A friend of mine keeps Cadburies Creme Eggs in the freezer to knock back the sickliness of the filling a bit. I haven't tried to poach a creme egg though.

That'd be messy!
Mayonnaise you do, so why not eggs?
Because it's an emulsion?
*Do not use it on your skirting boards
Yes.
Had two lovely poached eggs over fried mushrooms for lunch today actually.

Correct. That treatment is called "washing" and it's (theoretically) to reduce the risk of salmonella, but it compromises the shells so they have to be refrigerated. We don't do this in the UK because we inoculate our hens instead. In the US it's illegal to sell unwashed eggs, in the UK it's illegal to sell washed ones as it increases risk of contamination from the outside in.

Yes - its for the walls only. Eggshell for the woodwork.
Eggs - no
Chocolate - no
Tomatoes - no
Ketchup/Brown Sauce - Yes (but appreciate we don't need to

They'd have been even lovelier fried. I don't see the point of poached eggs, it's like saying "I'd like a slightly watery boiled egg please"...
Eggs no.
Chocolate no, never even thought to... Can’t imagine it cold unless on a hillside.
Butter stays out other than hottest bit of summer, if we have it.
Tomato sauce yes, because it says to.
Question - how about chocolate eggs then??
fried or poached?
When was the last time someone had an egg go off? I keep them out of the fridge and never look at use by dates and can't ever remember having a dodgy one. I'm not a massive user of eggs so some of them must have been sitting around for weeks.
