What used to keep me warm in conditions such as these no longer seems to keep me as warm. Is feeling the cold more just 'one of those things' that you need to get used to as you age?

I certainly do. Back in they day I'd be out on uni field trips in the Brecon Beacons in November in a t-shirt and a grimace. Nowadays I don't like to stand on a tiled floor in bare feet.

I thought that I was relatively 'cold proof', not any more it seems. I wonder if you can lose your adaption/hardening to cold weather over time?

There's a reason all the elderly wear coats+scarves months before the younger generations...
