Never lifted a weight, but have pretty well defined quads. They big compared to the rest of me, but still not bit very big.
"Classic singletrollocks. Back under your bridge."
Sorry, have I upset you? ๐
A good example of how body types can differ yet still offer similar performance is found in comparing Anna Meares and Victoria Pendleton, both extremely successful and dominant in their sport. Meares has significantly bigger quads and glutes, yet Pendelton was equal to her, pretty much (how good was that olympic final? ๐ฏ ).

Err, in that picture Pendelton looks at least the same size as Meares if not bigger ๐
so what your saying clodhopper is that pendletons carrying some excess flab around her thighs.....just as anyone on here who has defined thighs is.
No, I'm not actually. I was pointing out that there are different body types, and made other comments relating to the propensity to store fat in certain parts of the body. I really wouldn't say that Pendleton is carrying any 'excess flab' and I'm mystified why you'd think I did. ๐
I have 'well defined quads', they're just not very big. Definition?size. Some people will have bigger muscles, some will have greater body fat, naturally. But then, some will just be annoyingly brilliant all round, like Bradley Wiggins. Mo Farrah is a very lean athlete with very little body fat, optimised for long-distance running as opposed to explosive power, but I'd bet he could out sprint anyone on this forum.
i missed a photo - earlier you made referance to a lad with thighs carrying fat .... cant see it on computer here... but on my phone your post makes sense ๐
as you were
Clodhopper's point is illustrated by comparing say Cavendish and Greipel, perhaps? Can't find a pic of them standing side by side.. a few of them riding neck and neck though ๐
Only when i lived in Wales with big hills
and made other comments relating to the propensity to store fat in certain parts of the body.
I've never come across any man who primarily stores fat on their thighs. Anyone with flabby thighs will have a huge gut.
Sorry, have I upset you?
No, but you have wrongly accused someone of being fat, when they quite clearly aren't. It's a mistake a lot of skinny people make.

Sorry 'Flaps. Not true. One of my mates has always suffered from large thighs!

Large thighs is not the same as storing fat primarily on the things. E.g. has he had the fat layer measured on them vs the rest of his body by DEXA?
Yeahq you can have muscular thighs that don't really have much definition, it all depends on the type of excersise you do and your genetics.
Just visit any weight training forum and read threads on bulking for stregnth and cutting for definition.
Cycling in any form is more cardio than increasing size, unless you weight train as well, and men typically get fatty around the midriff, and that's the hardest part to shift as that's where the bulk of the fat is.
I stopped weight training, decent weight sqauts / leg press and took up biking - lost 4" off my thighs but kept a lot of strength (singlespeed) I guess they look like I exercise but not awesome .
Yes, he has had his body fat measured and he disproportionately stores fat on his thighs and calves. When I used the term 'large' I was being kind to a friend rather than just saying he's got fat legs.
