Used to use a PS3, until i got fed up of not being able to read MKV's and i didnt use the thing for its game playing facilities anyway so sold it for a samsung bluray player BD-D5500. When it works this is great...but it regularly drops the wired connection which samsung say is normal and the shop i bought it from dont really care..
so what other options are there that come stw recommended? I know that there are bound to be a few of you here who use this kind of thing..
thnks!
sony blu ray players work well for dlna at least never dropped a connection, does have the odd anoying features but it works, surprised about the samsung, some models seem to get good reports.

I've got the oldish Sony BDP-S360, works as a DLNA header. Servio is supported natively, streams perfectly from the PC. A+, would buy again.
Is there a firmware update for the Sammy perhaps?
just a thought scotia but are you sure its not your server or router dropping the connection. as cougar says serviio works really well with sony players. i have the sony bdp s370
sorry cougar, i didnt see that post (i did search but i was lacking sleep last night - new born baby - so may have missed it!).
Samsung is up to date, and it seems on the forums to be a know problem..
I should have said that i dont want Sony as they cannot normally play mkv files..
